  1. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 05:26 PM) He's had 700+ ML at bats, with an ops below .630. Have you seen JB Shucks OPS this season?
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 05:08 PM) This is why you don't hire former players. First Ozzie canned and hated forever; now Robin. I do agree Robin must go, but it also is sad. Gotta be able to separate the 2 I suppose: Robin Ventura the former Sox 3B great and Robin Ventura the manager.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 04:40 PM) This guy is 26 years old and a 29th round pick? Doesn't sound too promising to me. Hope he gets a hit soon, albeit he's only zip for 7. You do realize he's still in the lineup right? He was referring to playing the outfield.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 10:00 AM) Except for Thompson, Semien and Anderson. What pitching have we "developed" recently? Rodon had a grand total of 10 minor league starts, that was it. Nate Jones, I guess. But that dates back to 2012, along with Q/Santiago/Santos/Reed. Petricka, if you really want to push the definition. Pssst...players continue to develop in the majors.
  5. 32 and a 3B. Don't really see a fit here to be honest.
  6. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 11:23 AM) Interesting to see Shilds tonight. Hope he brings his A game A-game or a game on the bench for when he's taken out early?
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 11:10 AM) No. They won't win with that. Most likely not, but just tossing out an idea til Jackson comes back or they trade for someone better. Not really big on the current situation. Edit: I'd take either on the bench over Shuck at the very least.
  8. Lourdes Gurriel should be available in this class I believe. He's 22 so an older but more likely to help you sooner prospect. Might as well try to snag him and any other top International talent and go over the limit.
  9. If Anderson hits and can be moved up to the 2-spot, would anyone be opposed to Bourgeois or Leury Garcia patrolling center and hitting 9th? Don't really know how they're doing defensively, but it could add another solid defender in center pushing Eaton back to right with more speed and flexibility on the roster.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:23 AM) Until yesterday, Lawrie had been hitting the ball pretty hard lately. I've noticed that as well.
  11. QUOTE (SpankyEaton @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 09:49 PM) I've noticed that Lawrie is always in an 0-2 count...pitchers must know to get ahead of him and he'll be an automatic out. I miss the Lawrie that used to have good at bats and take walks.
  12. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 11:04 AM) Tim Anderson doesn't wear 44 dude. Yeah we were talking about prematurely buying rookie jerseys.
  13. Anyone else really shocked at how far back the right fielder was playing for Avi?
  14. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 02:27 PM) It's a shame that bunt cost them all 3 outs in the inning. Meh would have rather had one of our better hitters swing. 20 at bats isn't much of a sample size.
  15. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 01:46 PM) Did the inning end when Melky bunted? I could have sworn there was only one out with their cleanup hitter coming up. Nope but it's a waste of an out regardless. Especially when he's been swinging the bat well.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 01:46 PM) Rightfully so, hawk gets calls wrong more than Jason The best is when he can't tell if it's a homer or not and does his call late. Or starts yelling stretch when it falls way short of the warning track. Or starts hoping a ball is going to get foul when it's like 15 rows deep.
  17. Melky's decision or not, I wish he didn't bunt. Never agree with doing so with no one out, guy in scoring position. Especially when guy on second can score on a single.
  18. QUOTE (Tony @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 11:00 AM) Piss off, I have an authentic, signed, 44 Anderson jersey. You win.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 10:16 AM) COATS (coming out of university) [plus athlete; very strong; special bat speed; decent to average speed; average arm; plus raw power; corner outfielder with good range; pitch recognition could make or break him; 6-2, 195 pounds] Half Glass Full: Pitch recognition and overall approach at plate improves to the point his plus power allows him blossom as an above-average everyday corner outfielder Half Glass Empty: Awesome power goes to waste as 4A slugger due to Jeff Francoeur-level plate discipline Jason Coats: Similar speed gives Coats similar range (to Courtney Hawkins), but having watched them both play and listening to some scouts, the routes and instincts are superior here. He looks like he's likely above average on the corners, and he can and does play a little center in a pinch. Call him 55 or 60 on this grade. Jason Coats: Coats doesn't have the arm strength Hawkins does, but it's close. And having watched him in outfield drills in Charlotte, he was putting on a show compared to his cohorts on throws to the plate, with good strength and striking accuracy. Again plenty of arm for any slot, he's at least a 50 here, and might be closer to 60. http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2015/...nd-jason-coats/ So all indications are the Coats should be an above average LFer and at least an average RFer. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 10:27 AM) I think anyone is better than Garcia in RF. Coats never really had any special standout tool, but is supposedly average across the board. Good enough for me to play in the outfield over Avi.
  20. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 10:53 AM) I bought a St. Party's day Beckham. It's put away. Also have an autographed Quentin as well. I had a huge man crush on Quentin. I think we all did in 2008.
  21. Coats DH today. Surely he has to be better than Garcia defensively, no?
  22. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 07:55 AM) I expect this will happen next year, so Im going to wait to buy the jersey I'm waiting longer than that. Don't want to get burned again (looks at #15 jersey hanging in closet).
  23. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 07:55 AM) I expect this will happen next year, so Im going to wait to buy the jersey I don't get why they couldn't give him that number right away. And I highly doubt it has anything to do with Rollins still being in DFA limbo as players are able to change numbers at will.
  24. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 11:26 AM) I hope Miami loses this weekend lol Dude let him enjoy it.
