QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ May 29, 2016 -> 04:05 PM) Is this going to end badly? Based on 2 first pitches, yes.

LMFAO

QUOTE (Real @ May 29, 2016 -> 04:02 PM) This game is over, you just know it. Lol No lead is safe. Sucks you can be up 4-2 and feel the loss is coming.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 28, 2016 -> 08:48 PM) There's no chance Shields opts out. And if he does, that means pitched so well that we should be able to get a comp pick from his exit. We would not be able to offer a QO as he has to play for the same team all season in order to be eligible.

With there not being a lot of talent in free agency this upcoming offseason to spend on, I think it's more likely sox take on big expiring (1-2 years remaining) contracts without giving up top talent.
-
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 28, 2016 -> 03:32 PM) I'm just going to be upfront about this, I'm not a fan of this trade unless San Diego eats a lot of his contract. I would think sox would be willing to take on almost all to pay minimal in players.

QUOTE (raBBit @ May 28, 2016 -> 12:56 PM) Sox won't take Collins over Rutherford. Cal Quantrill is rumored to have a deal with the Pads at one of their picks 24/25. How would that even work? Couldn't he get drafted before this comp pick?

I too love Todd Frazier. Still hoping for that middle of the order bat to help compliment the righties! -
I don't think any shortstop would have had a play at second. I think he had a possible play at first though.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 27, 2016 -> 10:42 PM) I knew it was over when Rollins didn't throw to first and the bags were loaded. I also had an inkling when Hosmer responded to us getting the lead with that solo homer. Curse of our bullpen. At 23-10 I thought we had a winner in Robin. We were rattling off win after win and I thought he'd aged nicely into a top manager. That made me laugh for some reason. Kind of a funny sentence. Yep. The night of the Rangers game the season was over. True. I firmly believe they should put Albers on the DL and send him down and get him to lose 20 pounds. Seriously. He may have 'some' ability; give up on him now and get the body sculpted better. That's kind of harsh. Kansas is a s***ty state because of Brownback and the bizarre weather but ?? Who cares about the Tigers? Scoreboard watching is dumb this time of year. We've already shown we're not a contender. The only victory formula for this team was the formula used during our hot streak and odds of that were slim to continue. That is ... have INCREDIBLE starting pitching, not just good. Then you rely on your relievers for just an out or two plus three from the closer. Also good to great defense. The hitting sucked even when we were hot. Once the pitching dropped down from INCREDIBLE to average (bullpen way below average) this team started to lose and lose big. This team actually blows. No margin for error unless starting pitching was like it was for a month. Unusually amazing. Now it blows. I liked 23-10 but didn't care about the standings. There were over 100 games left for gosh sakes. Meant nothing. Agree. I don't watch the standings until second half to be honest. It doesn't really mean anything the first half especially the first month. -
Can Someone Honestly Tell Me ONE Thing That Ventura Does Well?

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 27, 2016 -> 10:37 PM) They'll hire a Hispanic manager with all the criticisms that MLB is getting for not having any. Sox seemingly want to make that a priority anyways and it makes some sense, although Sox have been getting less Hispanic compared to the last few years. Just hope it's not Joey Cora. I think he our next potential manager is already in the dugout. -

QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ May 27, 2016 -> 10:33 PM) Might as well try Coats anyways. Can't be worse than Sands. He's not a future regular either, so it isn't as though he needs to be getting regular at bats. I would try him out too. I just wouldn't have faith in giving that much time to many young guys in a year we try to compete. However, if we continue playing like this the next month/month and a half, I'd rather see guys come up. -

If this season ends up looking worse where we're likely not contending, I wouldn't mind some young guys coming up to get some at bats and experience the rest of the way (Coats in a corner spot-Melky DH, Davidson up to get at bats between DH,1B,3B, more Saladino at short (not quite ready to call up Anderson personally), call up Kevan Smith while releasing Avila because: why not?). -

QUOTE (fathom @ May 27, 2016 -> 10:21 PM) Which is why spending a ton of money on Shields would be so stupid right now. Oh well, the farm system is so awful it doesn't matter who they give up outside of Anderson. Yeah no thanks on Shields. -

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ May 27, 2016 -> 10:22 PM) They found their groove. You are seeing it. No clutch in any aspect of the game unless you add choking to that list. Scouting and developing seems to adore mental weakness. I'm not saying we found ours. I'm saying other teams have. We were playing better than we actually are the first month. The "this team is still in first" comments are becoming irrelevant. -

That April looks like fool's gold. Honestly it is hard to judge a team after the first month since guys are still finding their groove and getting in the swing of things (no pun intended). -

It's amazing our hitting coach still has a job (not saying it's entirely his fault, but coaches don't usually hang around through bad times). -

QUOTE (fathom @ May 27, 2016 -> 02:53 PM) I understood Eaton getting yesterday off, but with the rain out, makes little sense to me that he's out again given that he's destroyed LHP this year. Also not a fan of having your worst option defensively in RF with a RHP on the mound for the Sox. I agree. No point in sitting him. -
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 27, 2016 -> 01:43 PM) Do you think any of these dates have changed because of the postponement at KC? Does it matter at this moment in time?

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 27, 2016 -> 04:46 PM) Thank you. Would have been stupid to not pitch Sale against the Royals I still think it's stupid to not skip Gonzalez.

QUOTE (SoCalSox @ May 27, 2016 -> 11:44 AM) That was last night's lineup. No lineup has been released for today. Yep. With having yesterday off, I bet Eaton is back in today.
