QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:44 PM) I see Hahn get credit for some of the contracts he has gotten done with our young pitching but I dont see a lot people running around giving him credit for other stuff. There really havent been many successes to brag about for Hahn since he has been the GM. That's exactly it though. He has gotten praise at the time has made moves, but when they don't work out, people don't fault him for it. They instantly blame Kenny.

QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:36 PM) I would love to see evidence that Hahn has fresh ideas that they follow through with. I would love to see evidence that says Hahn has fresh ideas that they don't follow through with. It's so funny to me how Kenny gets blamed for all the moves people don't like and Rick is the savior who makes all the moves people like. When things go bad, it's OBVIOUS that Kenny is still running the team. How about they're both working together and it's Jerry's win-now approach that causes this mess.

QUOTE (shysocks @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) If you picked two at random, it could be worse. Active players with MVP hardware: AL: Donaldson Trout Miggy Verlander Josh Hamilton* Mauer Pedroia A-Rod* Morneau Ichiro NL: Harper Kershaw McCutchen Posey Braun Votto Pujols* Rollins Ryan Howard* * = Worse. Factors in contract. Votto is borderline. We'll get those guys at the end of their careers. Don't worry.

Such a Sox move.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 03:08 PM) I wonder what the timetable is on Mourneau being in the line up, and then the timetable on when he will be out for a significant stretch. I totally expect them to sign Crawford who they will try to DH and fail during the time frame Morneau is preparing in the minors.

QUOTE (bjm676 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 11:08 AM) I have a feeling that Gonzalez will pitch well tonight. Agree. I'm sure Gio Gonzalez will pitch really well against our squad -
Let's just get rid of everyone. Whole front office, entire coaching staff (literally every team gets lucky on developing pitchers who struggled with other teams. Cooper isn't God.)
-
I think Jason will get better with experience. It's his first full season. And a half season at that.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 09:37 PM) Unbelievable. Remember: trades people like = Rick Hahn. Trades people don't like = All Kenny's fault. I'm at the point of getting rid of both and the entire coaching staff. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 09:34 PM) You left before the fourth inning?? Wow. That is pretty serious stuff. On a summer night? You musta really been disgusted. What's the deal with the concessions closed? What's that about? Tiny crowds? On a work night, I would totally leave early from a game like this. I however don't go during the weekdays anymore. -

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 09:33 PM) If it was a 70 win team with young potential in the minors (like the 2014 Cubs), I'd absolutely watch that and be confident that the team had a chance to improve in the future. Watching the Sox these days, that just isn't the case. Besides Anderson, the rest of the farm system has been very disappointing this year; and even Anderson isn't a sure thing. The Sox are in a tough position in the sense that they have legit talent at the MLB level (albeit, not enough to be an elite team), but have very little talent in the lower levels. If the big league sucks (like they have lately), then the organization is f***ed from top to bottom. It sucks, but it didn't have to be like this. Jerry/Kenny/Hahn created this disaster and now they have to deal with the consequences of a very poor team and an angry fanbase. Do they even have enough legit talent to be considered a "good team?" -

Let's go a hybrid route. Go all in trading prospects, signing a free agent or two in the off season. Make a real final run. If it still looks bleak a year from now, start trading Sale, Quintana, Eaton, hopefully a better Abreu, Frazier, Lawrie, Robertson, Melky, and other potential pieces brought in during the span and get a bunch of young talent back mid 17 through the off-season. -

It's a strategy to help build your team for success. Not everyone can dump hundreds of millions of dollars on free agents every year. -

QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 09:22 PM) Who cares? The Front Office's are throwing the games and it makes the league(whichever one) look like a joke. When you can start writing off teams in the offseason and who obviously have zero desire to win there's a problem. How do you punish a team? Are they supposed to spend a certain amount of money? What if a team has a strategy of trying to play their own young home grown talent thinning they can win with it? If the owner feels they can win with young players, I don't think they go in with the mindset of trying to lose in this scenario, yet they should be punished? -

QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 09:21 PM) You don't give away a pitcher of Sale's caliber for a bunch of maybes. I know that but I'm just saying I doubt the Red Sox would do it because as you said "stud for 15 years." Plus, Price aside, they don't really do longterm deals to pitchers. They'd be more likely to extend Bogaerts to a long term deal than Sale after his contract is up. -

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 09:19 PM) The lottery system for picks is somewhat a decent way to do it. I do agree with that. First ten picks should be lottery style. -

QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 09:18 PM) The owner wont though. Honestly I hate tanking in any sport. I think there should be punishments/countermeasures for what some of these teams try to do. It's not like players on teams in those situations are intentionally throwing games. They are playing for their career. -

QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 09:10 PM) I would demand Bogaerts as part of a deal for Sale. That guy is going to be a stud for another 15 years. Which is why the Red Sox would likely hesitate to do it and then not do it. -
QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 08:26 PM) What is the point of your post? I'm calling out this fool Why just him? A lot of people were good with this move. Because you were maybe right about one move, you're a better talent evaluator? Quick sign this guy up White Sox!

QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 08:21 PM) Not my fault you are horrible at evaluating talent. The truth sucks doesn't it? What is the point of this? Immature and stupid.
