I'm inclined to believe that Ricky's become "one of JRs guys" and as such, has all the job security in the world. It's too much of the status quo for me to believe that he's a placeholder. Unfortunately, we may have to see our team winning despite his shortcomings and ultimately losing some winnable games as well. I look forward to the community meltdowns.

While attempting to piece together a future lineup, it is so easy to dream on it. There are so many possibilities. If you pencil in guys like Madrigal, Vaughn, Robert and Collins, it could be nuts. DH isn't even filled unless Eloy moves there. I like Madrigal leading off if he hits his ceiling, so my lineup looked something like this: Madrigal 2B Robert CF Moncada 3B Jimenez LF Vaughn 1B Abreu DH? Anderson SS McCann/Collins C RF Hopefully someone speedy. Leury/Cordell/Tilson are great options if the latter two hit their ceilings or Leury stays as is. Then there's guys like Basabe, Adolfo, Rutherford, Walker, Gonzalez... you have to imagine at least one of this giant group will pan out. This could be the best lineup in the AL in short order.

You guys are missing the forest through the trees. Drafting Vaughn makes the Sox decide that they cannot allow Alonso's option to vest, meaning we should see Yonder DFA'd to make room for Vaughn next year. It's a win-win. Drafting Vaughn helps the Sox this year even if he doesn't play. ?

I'm leaning Vaughn over Abrams finally. There's just so much potential in that bat. I don't care where he plays defensively if he has a ceiling of one of the best hitters in the game.
