David Robertson
Would a 2 player package of Juan Soto and Andrew Stevenson be too much to ask for Robertson? Those guys are really intriguing.

David Robertson
Not including Robertson in the Eaton trade was a savvy move by Hahn. DRob will have a lot of value in a couple months if he keeps dominating like he has been.

2017 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 11:32 PM) He piqued my interest prior to going to Korea, glad to see him doing so well this go around. Wish the Sox would have been in on him. I mean, as long as he doesn't embarrass himself over the remaining 150 games, he's already been worthy of the $5 million or so he's going to be paid this year. I wanted the Sox to sign Thames months ago. He's the real deal and would've been a great trade chip at the deadline. Oh well.

Update: Luis Robert has been cleared according to Rosenthal
As far as I'm concerned, the Sox need to sign him at whatever price. Elite talents like Robert don't come along often...especially ones that fit the "window" to a tee.

Update: Luis Robert has been cleared according to Rosenthal
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 12:10 PM) I'm thinking bad unless they are willing to sign him at any cost. Jerry better open up that checkbook then.

Update: Luis Robert has been cleared according to Rosenthal
QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 11:38 AM) Likely to clear before June 15th...says this article. http://www.baseballamerica.com/internation...er-luis-robert/ So...is this good or bad news for the Sox?

Updated teams interested in Q
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 11:08 AM) Noted. Cain would be useful if healthy to a contender in need of a solid outfielder So would Avi Garcia.

SSS Theater: Avi Garcia
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 11:43 AM) Avi and Davidson turning into even just semi-productive players goes a long way for a rebuild. Does it really though? Avi is only controlled through 2020. I just don't see him being a long term piece unless he's figured it out for real and the Sox sign him to an extension.

April 15th Game Thread: White Sox @ MN Twins
Is Santana suddenly really good or is the Sox lineup just really bad? Combo of both maybe?
-
April 15th Game Thread: White Sox @ MN Twins
I like Davidson so much more than Frazier.

April 15th Game Thread: White Sox @ MN Twins
At least Q ate some innings, so that's a plus. Just have to hope he turns this around soon.

April 15th Game Thread: White Sox @ MN Twins
QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 02:46 PM) We get it, the worse Q pitches, the lower the value and the less the Sox get back as that trends. Pretty obvious stuff. BTW, there is a Topps Now of the 3 Garcias. Exactly...so why am I getting scrutinized for saying that Hahn screwed up by not trading him in the offseason? Perhaps the offers weren't there but the uncertainty of his future could be getting into Q's head at this point and negatively impacting his performance.

April 15th Game Thread: White Sox @ MN Twins
Though I will say Q has righted the ship somewhat. Still not a good outing in any sense of the word but at least he saved the bullpen a bit.

April 15th Game Thread: White Sox @ MN Twins
QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 02:41 PM) If you actually would have said that, and not "Hahn f***ed up big time", I wouldn't have responded how I did. Think before you hit the post button. I'm not quite sure what point you're trying to make, as thus far, Q's value has gone nowhere but down to start the season and it appears as if Hahn made the wrong decision to not trade him in the offseason.

QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 02:12 PM) Jesus, please stop. So you don't think Q's value has gone down from the end of spring training to now?

This is awful. Hahn f***ed up big time.

Chicago White Sox @ Minnesota Twins 4/14/17
QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 14, 2017 -> 02:39 PM) Topps needs to make a card to document this truly historical event. I'm pretty sure they will.

Willy Garcia Called Up
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Apr 13, 2017 -> 10:38 AM) Just to stir the rumor cauldron, you think it's possible the Sox cut bait with Frazier and give 3B to Davidson? Frazier doesn't really have value at the moment and he hasn't looked good at the plate. At this point ( can't believe I'm saying this), Davidson just might be more productive now and in the near future than Frazier. We know there's no future with Frazier but there is the slight possibility of Davidson having a future with the rebuilding Sox. Not the I'm holding my breath. I don't think they'd DFA Frazier but I definitely agree with you in regards to Davidson. He's looked really good so far this season. I'm just sick and tired of Frazier. Every at-bat he goes up there, flails his arms, and is completely off balance. He has no approach whatsoever and tries to pull everything. Dude hits more infield popups than anyone I've ever seen.

Willy Garcia Called Up
Kind of off topic but Frazier has been a massive disappointment with the Sox. I realize they didn't give up much for him, but still. He's very underwhelming.
-
Willy Garcia Called Up
I'd love for Willy to turn into something. It's not likely but I think he has a better shot of becoming a productive big leaguer than May.
-
Willy Garcia Called Up
Who got sent down? May? We gotta see an all Garcia outfield at some point now.

Updated teams interested in Q
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 12:19 PM) All you have to do is read the Cubs catch all thread on this page to know the unhealthy obsession many Sox fans have with the Cubs... and that is the diehards. The Joe Average guys are even worse about it. I don't think anyone on Earth hates the Cubs more than me, but if they offer the best package for Q, then I have no problem with him ending up there. It would be annoying and upsetting, but I'm a Sox fan first and foremost. The return for Q is much more important to me than seeing him possibly win a World Series with the Cubs.

Keith Law Top 100
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 11:22 AM) He did. He said it before he was drafted too though. It wasn't like he loved Chris Sale and then changed his mind after the Sox drafted him. That's how people act. Goes to show how some of these "experts" aren't always right like some people make them out to be.

Keith Law Top 100
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 11:02 AM) Law was down on the White Sox when KW was in charge. Just look at all his ridiculousness regarding Chris Sale. Even when it was clear he was wrong, he didn't budge for another year or 2. I don't see much if any bias now, but for a while there, he definitely had a chip on his shoulder regarding the White Sox. It didn't help that most of their prospects did suck, but the ones that didn't, he was down on them all. Law was the guy that said Sale would be a future reliever. LMAO.

4/12 Games
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 10:59 AM) Awesome to see that Alec could bounce back with such an impressive performance after such an awful one. What was his line in his previous start? I must've missed it.
