White Sox vs Rays 1:10 pm
QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 02:23 PM) With Rodon, Kopech, Gio and Lopez I don't see Fulmer as anything more than back of the rotation arm anyway...he'll be a good long man, and could potentially be a nice setup guy if he can find 2 pitches to locate. He's very good if he only has to pitch an inning or two at a time. Obviously that isn't what we hoped for when the Sox drafted him, but he could still be a valuable contributor on the next good Sox team.

Fulmer will be an amazing reliever.

I'd rather have Leury as the backup infielder with Cordell as the 4th outfielder. Saladino is terrible and it baffles me why he is still on the team.

Why the hell is Saladino in the lineup again?

Tampa Bay @ Chicago GT
I'm not even surprised at this point. It is what it is.

Moncada looks really good at the plate today against an elite pitcher, I love this.

Another crap performance from Gonzalez. Shocking.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 02:24 PM) Kopech isn't going to be an innings eater until he cuts his walks/game to the 2 to 2.5 range. He might throw 110 pitches, but he'll only be looking at 5 or 6 innings to do it. That would still be more enjoyable to watch than what we're seeing this afternoon.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 01:46 PM) I mean, he's really just there to fill a spot and eat innings. Kopech can't come soon enough!

Miguel Gonzalez is so average.

4-8 Gamethread - Tigers, 1:10pm, CSN
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 06:34 PM) He could be this year’s Kahnle or Jenks. There are a lot of similarities with each. Ability to throw extreme gas. Has nice stuff. Like Kahnle, control and command a huge issue. Like Jenks, some past attitude issues, and girth. 100% agreed. And he's also controlled through 2021, so he could potentially be a long term bullpen piece if he can figure it out. I was really impressed with him this afternoon, let's hope that continues.

Wouldn't surprise me if Rondon is the closer moving forward, he looked absolutely electric today.

Lopez and Rondon looked amazing, that's good enough for me.

Projected 2018 OD Roster
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 20, 2018 -> 11:42 AM) Ha. I see you did what I did. Quoted Chicago White Sox's post and made a few tweaks. Lot of guys who could potentially end up in the pen so I didn't even bother thinking about the pen on my own. I was considering replacing Bruce Rondon with Danny Farquhar but the bullpen isn't too shabby all things considered. I don't really think Saladino is deserving of making the team but I picked him over Davidson just because he has more versatility...although it wouldn't shock me if the Sox sign another infielder at some point and they win the backup infielder job.

2017-2018 MLB player movement rumors and reports
Sox could grab Dickerson and let him DH, or put him in LF and let Delmonico DH. It's a win/win scenario either way, as adding Dickerson makes the Sox undoubtedly better.

Just came here to say that the Sox should absolutely pick up Dickerson.

Sox sign Jeanmar Gomez
This thread is pure gold.

Sox Sign RHP Bruce Rondon
This guy has talent if the Sox can fix his attitude issues. Good signing. Zero risk, high reward.

2018 Sox ZiPS projections
The Sox are going to finish 3rd in the Central. At the worst.

Cease and Burger should've been on the list IMO but these rankings are ultimately just opinion based, it's not a big deal.

Brewers nearing trade
QUOTE (KrankinSox @ Jan 21, 2018 -> 08:19 PM) Absolutely no shot the sox are taking on that Ellsbury contract. If they only have to take on part of it, I hope they at least consider it if they get quality prospects along with him. Braun's contract is just as bad FWIW.

Brewers nearing trade
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 21, 2018 -> 07:50 PM) I know it’s all speculation right now, but if you connect all the dots this actually makes sense: 1) Brewers sign Lorenzo Cain to discounted deal to play CF 2) Brewers take on Ellsbury’s contract in exchange for Chance Adams + second high end prospect 3) Brewers trade Brinson, other prospects, & Ellsbury to Sox for Carlos Sanchez These moves in aggregate make the Brewers a lot better IMO. Also, I’ll repeat it but I find it very interesting that the Sox & Sanchez haven’t come to a salary agreement yet over $300k. Just seems like a completely immaterial amount to not be able to find a happy median with. I would love this deal for the Sox. Ellsbury's contract sucks but it's worth it to get Brinson and possibly other prospects as well. And it's possible that the Yankees/Milwaukee could eat some of his contract too.
