How do the Sox move forward now that tanking isn't an option?
I don't pay attention to most of your posts. Your relentless criticism and total negativity towards the White Sox doesn't interest me. Still, do you think the bullpen would have been better if Hendriks had been on the team? Losing a All Star bullpen pitcher like Hendriks has really hurt the team.

How do the Sox move forward now that tanking isn't an option?
Your post is on target. I'm hoping that Colas and Burger have a good August and September. That would solve some of the problems in the future. I noticed that the Cardinals want to trade Willson Contreras. I don't know what they would want for him but he would upgrade the teams catching here.

7/22/23: Chicago White Sox @ Minnesota Twins - 6:15 PM CDT TV: Fox Radio WMVP AM 1000
The team has had a bad season because the team has scored 3 or less runs in more than half of their games. There are too many outs in the lineup. Losing All Star closer Liam Hendriks has hurt the bullpen and team tremendously. I'm expecting the team to add a couple of hitters in the off season and hopefully Hendriks will be good again next season. With a few added pieces there isn't any great need to rebuild the team. The division is not strong and could be won next season.

Fire Rick Hahn
Benintendi has turned out to be one of the best signings by Hahn. He's a good ballplayer. I'm glad he's on the team.

GameThread: White Sox @ Twins
I assumed that Colas would start every day against righties the rest of the season. I guess I was wrong.

White Sox Winner Again!
Some, time, some where, some day, Moncada will be back on the team. Burger has 22 home runs and 44 rbis. Moncada probably won't hit 22 home runs the rest of his career. I'm really curious to see if they bench Burger and play Moncada full time. Its time to move on from Moncada. Even if they have to release him and eat his money. So be it.

White Sox Winner!
Wonderful win!!!! I really liked that Burger and Colas had a good game. If these two can continue to produce the future will be much brighter.

White Sox still one of just seven teams to see attendance falls
With the lease expiring in a few years they're not going to do anything major in or around the park.

Kopech is not a starter
Garrett Crochet will be the starting rotation in 2024.

I read in todays Sun Times that Pedro has 2 more years remaining on his contract.

It would really be a good PR move if Ozzie is made the manager this off season.

Giolito's wife files for divorce
1) In the real world that most of us live in the average marriage lasts 10 years. 2) In the world of entertainment, (Movie and Tv stars and athletes) the average marriage lasts 5 years. 3) I read a few years ago that 85% of MLB players get divorced. 4) Its not our business if Giolito gets divorced. 5) To say his divorce reflects on the White Sox organization is simply crazy.

7/7: Cards @ Sox
Do you think the results would have been better if Hendriks was with the team?

Trading One Year Assets is Inevitable. Maybe even 2-yr
Why wouldn't the White Sox pickup Liams option?. He has been one of the best relief pitchers in MLB the last few years. Not having him in the bullpen this year has really hurt the bullpen and the team this year. The team would have had more wins if he would have pitched this year.

Moncada
I'm hoping that Burger starts hitting. I would think if Burger produces the rest of the year Moncada won't be on the team in 2024. The White Sox should be able to move Moncada in the off season. Even if they have to eat most of his salary, so be it.

Giolito speaks...
Can't help but wonder if the team has offered to extend his contract this year. I hope they sign him. Considering the millions of dollars Hahn has wasted on players who weren't any good I can't understand why he wouldn't sign Giolito.

7/2 Gamethread - TBD vs. Blackburn
If Burger starts hitting again (bringing up his BA) the team can simply keep him the rest of the season at third base. If that happens I'm hoping that Moncada will be off the team, one way or another.

7/2 Gamethread - TBD vs. Blackburn
I'm hoping that Burger starts hitting again. I would think he would be the starting 3rd baseman if he hits. Hopefully this will be the end of Moncada on the team.

Upper deck fix. removing one of the club levels
The problem about moving to the suburbs is the lack of public transportation. 20% of White Sox attendance comes from public transportation. Last year the team drew over 2 million fans. 400,000 came by public transportation. I don't see how those people using public transportation would get to the park if it was in the suburbs. When JR wanted the stadium built in Addison I always thought he would have lost alot of paying fans. There's no public transportation there.

Upper deck fix. removing one of the club levels
In the mid 1980s the City of Chicago offered to build a baseball stadium on this site of Block 78. JR turned down the offer. He wanted to build a stadium in Dupage County in Addison. JR just happened to own the land in Addison. When that didn't workout in Addison the Cities offer of the South Loop was off the table. They wound up back in Bridgeport. I've never met anybody who thinks they're better off in Bridgeport as opposed to the South loop. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise, no matter what the City offered JR in the South Loop he wasn't going to go there. He didn't own the land like he did in Addison. Its like a few years ago JR announced they were moving the White Sox out of Sarasota Florida and moving their spring training facilities to Tuscon Arizona. It just so happened that JR owned the land in Arizona where the stadium was being built. Anyways, I hope there next stadium is in the South Loop. It would be a tremendous site. I wouldn't be surprised if the stadium was built near the United Center.

Blow it the F Up
If this losing keeps happening I would think some changes will be made this off season. There are thousands of unsold tickets for this upcoming homestand. Even the Cubs series later in the month is not soldout. They're on a pace of drawing 1.6 million fans. Last year they drew 2 million. JR will definitely notice the drop in attendance and try to do something to turn this around. In the type of division they're in I don't see them blowing this up. I see a retool.

6/30 - Sox @ Vegas A’s of Oakland: 840CT
I' ve never seen an All Star player so young completely collapse as Anderson has this year. He's only 30 years old and is lost at the plate. The second time he struck out last night he took 3 pitches right done the middle of the plate. His last at bat he swung at a pitch and missed it by 2 feet. If this continues the rest of the year I wouldn't be surprised if the team didn't pickup his option for 2024. I thought there was a possibility he might be traded at the deadline. I don't think that is going to happen. I don't think any other team would want him. He can't produce offensively of defensively anymore.

Upper deck fix. removing one of the club levels
A few years ago I went into the upper deck. I hadn't been up there in years. I simply don't like it up there. My season tickets have always been on the lower level. I was just curious to see how it was up there after they took out 7 rows of seats.I went to the highest part of the upper deck, Section 558, Row 21, Seat 12. I was actually scared being up there. I can't believe that anybody would like being up there. And most people don't like it up there.

Upper deck fix. removing one of the club levels
The problem still remains. The upper deck is too high. I read a few weeks ago that some woman took her younger brother to a White Sox game and they sat in the upper deck. The boy was a special needs person. He told his sister he was scared sitting in the upper deck. She mentioned it to a couple of the White Sox workers and they were nice enough to move them in the lower level. The upper level has ruined the park. They're giving those tickets away and still not many fans want to sit up there.
