  1. It definitely goes back to players on the 05 team. I'm sure Konerko and Pierzynski were one of the best players in the sport during their primes with us
  2. I don't either. Jose has been extremely healthy too except for some freak accidents last year. With how hard he works and how dedicated he is, I bet he he still has good years through age 35 season...like top 10 in league first base/DH years. Although I do think he should be at DH.
  3. Amazing what a difference a lineup can look with just one name added.
  4. Get some Gio!!! What a fucking start. Proved all the haters wrong. Props to Parkman for continuing to believe in him. This was so much fun.
  5. Eh, I'm not sure. Bullpens can be such crap-shoots. Happens all over the league. Guys can be elite one year and mediocre the next, then elite again the next. I think Marshall has deserved another shot as a middle reliever next year for sure. Part of the Sox future? Will have to wait and see. I think if anything, the bullpen is going to be the piece that changes the most often, and will be the most high-maintenced part of the team during the winning years once everything else is fairly solidified.
  6. I honestly think the most important take-away from this year is that guys like Gio, Moncada, Anderson, McCann, Bummer and Marshall is not only have they been good...they've been good all year, elite even. They've shown their developments aren't just some fluke. Hell, even Leury. He may not be elite, but he is definitely very good. I always thought, all he needs to do is stay healthy and he will open eyes. Well, he's done that, and he's shown what he can do. And he's kept his numbers up all year as well as play solid defense in center, as well as short in Tim's absence.
  7. Yolmer heating up a little bit. That average over .250 now.
  8. Gio is so different from last year. Confidence just oozing out of his body. He has Nintendo stuff today.
  9. Abreu now 3-3 with a double. But he's aging. He sucks. He's getting worse. . Swings at too many sliders outside. Right.
  10. Curious about everyone's opinion on this. If it meant the difference between a playoff berth and just missing the ppayoffs by like 3-5 games, would you rather Robert, Moncada and Kopech start the season on the Sox for those extra wins to get into the playoffs, or would you rather Madrigal and Robert come up after a few weeks to retain the extra year of control, and Kopech get his "rehab starts" in AAA?
  11. Cubs fans dont care for their front office either and. Lol, a lot of them have called for Maddon to be fired. Give me a break.
  12. Yeah but most people don't have millions of others hearing their reasoning on national tv. That was my point. I get it. It's in his job description. He signed up for it. Yadayadayada. Still would drive me insane having to do that every day. Would probably drive you insane too.
  13. Every manager has instances like these. What he said wasn't even that bad. You all just latch onto every little word that you can use to try and twist the meaning and prove your point and blow things out of proportion. I guarantee you every single losing team has a fan base clamoring to change managers. Leadership sucks. Change the front office. They are still in a rebuild. See what he does next year with the team.
  14. How would you feel if you had to be in front of cameras every day and people questioning your decisions, every day, for millions of people to watch and listen to? Idk how the chicago media is tbh i havent lived there in years, but regardless of how they are, i would hate to be questioned like that 7 months straight
  15. He literally said he doesn't discount numbers. He's probably just sick of everyone's shit. Yeah his lineups are dumb a lot of times but if I were him Id tell everyone to fuck off at least once this year too. Hes had to face this media since February.
  16. He also got a bargain deal on McCann who is one of the best catchers in MLB this season, offensively AND defensively. I'd say that outweighs those bad signings tbh.
  17. I wonder if it has anything to do with Charlotte being a contender for a playoff spot?
  18. Josseeeeeeee hit that a long ass waaaaaaayyyyyyy
  19. Aren't the sox like perfect in that category?
  20. It really is actually. I started out annoyed now I'm enjoying it lol
