Nomar Mazara Speculation
I really don't get why people think the Sox aren't willing to spend money. They just spent 74 million on Grandal and they had the highest offer to Wheeler, and they almost spent 300 million last offseason. It's not about money right now.

Nomar Mazara Speculation
I mean if we get Mazara for one season as our stop gap and sign the prize in Mookie next offseason I'm all for it

Cole to the Yankees: 9 years, $324 million.
Wow. That's nuts.

Did Rendon say these things himself?

The White Sox next acquisition will be...
TA the 4th?

Dallas Keuchel (discussion)...come on down!
No problem...I think it's just the atmosphere with it being winter meetings and all. Any statement with "come on down" and a White Sox-connected player's name before it, on any normal boring week, probably would garner a different feel to it.

Ya I thought the Sox signed him lol

Scar Tissue - Bobby Jenks
Dude I am so sorry. That is just awful. Who do we turn to when we have emergency or dire medical needs when we can't trust the people that are supposed to be professionals at it? Just recently, my family member of mine experienced a major panic attack. Actually, the immediate family didn't know what it was at first because they had never seen anything like it. They brought him to the nearest ER, and At first it was, heart attack? No. Seizure? No. EKG and brain scan ruled those out. No one at the hospital knew what was wrong with him. He would have episodes where his body would shake, eyes would roll back, slurred speech, among other things. They gave him all these different kinds of medications that gave him awful side effects. When he finally stopped having the episodes, he went to his family doctor, and he basically said he did not need any of that medication. None of it was necessary. The doctor said those were the meds you give someone who is diagnosed for something like manic depression or psychosis (none of which he had)...basically last-resort drugs. The family doctor told him to refuse the medication, so when the nurse brought the meds to him next time, they refused, and the NURSE even said she would have done the same thing, but she has to follow orders from the doctor. What the fuck!?! These doctors don't even see these patients and just assign pills to fix everything. I hate it. You're right, it's all about money. It's evil. My family member was diagnosed with lyme disease, which he has PROPER meds for now, antibiotics, and he's also doing what he needs to do to work through the anxiety/depression. Which also is insane because this is like the most bubbly and out-going person I've ever met.

Scar Tissue - Bobby Jenks
Thankks for posting. Just read it outloud to my wife as we drive home to Grand Rapids from Chicago. Great story to help pass the time. Amazing what he went through. Addiction truly is an evil thing and so difficult to overcome, experiencing it myself by loved ones. And glad he is now fighting concurrent surgeries. The more I hear about mishaps in the medical field, the more I distrust doctors.

Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
Grand at short and Anderson catcher. We all know TA is the real catcher on this team

Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
In my ideal world (and maybe everyone's ideal world idk), sign a 1 year rental outfielder this year to cover RF and then make Mookie Bettes your ultimate target prize next season and sign him for however much he wants. Make him the golden free agent signing of this entire rebuild. Of course that hinges on whether or not he stays with Boston. But that's what I prefer they do. Honestly, the Sox should have a good enough offense to contend next offseason when Robert and Madrigal come up. I would focus more on defense for our pitchers with the outfield than offense. Obviously you want a player that brings more offense than Engel to the table, but someone who can hold their own in the field should be top priority, IMO. Calhoun? Sure, 1 year deal.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
Is Rodon a FA after 2020? If not, has to be after 2021.
-
Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
She sounds petty. She should keep her opinions to herself and stop trying to protect her husband, who still needs to prove he can pitch at a sustained competitive level.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
Hasn't she "implied" shit on Twitter about the Sox before? I mean this is pretty obvious what she is saying.

Josh Osich claimed by boston
So what was the point in picking him up? They see something they didnt like?

McCann inks 1 year, 5.4M deal with Sox
McCann is going to need to prove the first half of last season wasn't a fluke. 2020 is going to be the most important of his career thus far if he is going to get a nice free agent deal next offseason.

Interesting Positions/Titles within the Organization
Doesn't he own a few successful restaurants?

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
Both. It's probably, the Sox jumped so quickly on Grandal (and Abreu, more or less), and then almost right after the signings, the Sox are rumored to be front runners for Wheeler, so now everyone (including myself) are hyped about the next big signing happening fast. I think we are all being reminded that rumors are only rumors. I've been intentional about not getting my hopes up with signings, not that I don't think Hahn can't get it done, but being disappointed is not fun. It's a lot more fun when you aren't expecting anything and then all of a sudden you do your daily random refresh and boom White Sox sign X player for X years, much like it happened with Grandal IMHO: Rumors=nothing more than fodder to get fans hyped up. Not much backbone to them. The only person I really listen to with any sense of credibility as far as inside connections are concerned is Rosenthal.

As do I. I would not think it unreasonable to see a bench next year of Yolmer, Leury, McCann, Collins and Engel (26th man). That's an excellent bench
- Yolmer non-tendered

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
Wtf lol. Is this shit happening or wat.

Abreu Signs 3/$50M Extension
This and the Grandal news is all over the front page of MLB.com. Sox are winning the offseason again. Let's hope this time, it actually translates onto the field. May be an overpay, but whatever, Jose earned it. This should not cripple them from signing other guys that will make this a winning clubhouse again.

Palka designated for assignment
Palka was actually my way too early bold prediction for come-back player on the Sox in 2020, much like Giolito was in 2019, and solidifying his role on the team as the power hitting DH (left handed, to boot) they have been searching for since Thome. Wishful thinking. Hope he does well on his next team!
