Come on Edwin -
I think the reason that some want to believe that Vaughn is "ready" is that EE has struggled this far. If EE cannot fulfill the Sox expectations this season, they conceivably could bring up Vaughn. Mazara is obviously the other player in the line-up that has been a disappointment. No home runs for a guy that big and strong ? We are all waiting to see a 500 foot bomb and instead we get way too many K's from Mazara in clutch situations. This is a shortened season, so perhaps the Sox should respond to under-performance with more urgency and make personnel moves that they normally would hold off on.

Grandal fumbled several pitches. He had a nice throw though to nab a runner at second and that towering home run was majestic....looked to be 8 Miles High. -

It was pretty clear off the bat that the ball was smoked. -

Don't forget we have Mickey Mouse back in Schaumburg. He can carry the Gatorade now that Collins was shipped North. -

Hoo-ahh! -
I'd throw in Benetti ?

Seems perfectly consistent to me.

Everything is political any more. Anyway, my dream wold be to beat the Dodgers for a World Series this Fall.

It is easy to be a great announcer for a winning team. I'm pretty sure that a lot of announcers would love that opportunity, including the Hawk. Imagine how much fun Hawk would be having with all of the home runs. At least he had an idea when a ball was barely making it to the warning track instead heading into the OF seats ten rows deep He looks up....you can put it on the board.. Benetti makes you run to the screen in anticipation of a HR only to witness a weak fly ball. So OK Benetti is fine, but I am not gushing over his pseudo-intellectual banter and word games with Stone. Some of the self-deprecation and chiding of one another gets old after awhile.

Realistic trade candidates AKA The Lynnsanity Thread

I wonder if Cleveland would even consider trading Plesac now that he has proven to be a bad boy. I'd really like to have him in our rotation. -

I agree but I would inquire about Plesac just for the heck of it. Perhaps this kid likes Chicago (and partying in Chi-town) and may not be happy about the way he was treated for violating team covid protocol, even though it was probably justified. -

McCann wants to get paid. He does not give a shit about being the exclusive starting catcher who has to catch 120+ games a year in his 30's. Extend McCann for 3 years. It is a small insurance policy against Grandal getting old, getting injured and Collins sucking. -

Abreu made 3 plays that Vaughn in all likelihood couldn't make. Vaughn too short and lacks Abreu's flexibility and reach. Mazara probably would not have made the play Engel did for the 27th out. Could Collins have done this ? Uh, no just no. Great D by Timmy on several plays. This feels like a regular baseball season now. -
You missed the point which was * if * testing was economical ...like the saliva testing I mentioned ( I could not readily find a link) that could be an effective strategy given the short window within which infected people are contagious. (appx 10 days as I understand it). Perhaps it will be easier and more cost effective to implement testing than to find an effective vaccine that provides long term (at least a year) immunity.
