Only JR knew of new TLR DUI upon interview and hire
Complaining about the TLaR hire initially was fair game, but it has gotten old over the past several weeks. Please move on men because this is starting to get counterproductive. Let circumstances play out for a while with the team and let Sox fans enjoy the start of a new season. Thanks.

Edwin Encarnacion contract likely sent Sox in new direction this offseason
I would have preferred signing McCann (which they probably could have done for 3/30 last year) and signing Joc Pederson to platoon with Engel in RF. Water over the bridge now.

Come on man. Give it up.

TLR publicity train
I am so done with reading threads that trash JR and TLaR and aggrandize Rick Hahn. I am so this is the last one I will read. Look, if Hahn had a problem with the hiring of TLaR he could have said so or quit. He didn't do either. ST is here. Move on for chrisesakes.

Predict the Lineup
so, if Vaughn is not what people expect him to be (a rookie that comes up and takes over the DH spot against RH and LH starters) that might be when musical chairs begin: Tim Anderson Yoan Moncada Jose Abreu Eloy Jiminez Grandal Luis Robert (DH)? Madrigal Eaton If we are depending on Vaughn to be a full time DH that would put a lot of pressure on him as a rookie. In 2019 at Kannapolis and Winston Salem Vaughn hit .252 with 5 HR in 190ABs....not exactly dominating Minor league pitching.

Predict the Lineup
I have not seen enough Vaughn at-bats to have the same confidence others have in him in as an every day DH against RH and LH starters. Lucroy could possibly beat out Collins as back-up catcher. Regardless of who wins that role, they could become part of a platoon with Grandal and others at DH if Vaughn does not work out.

Nancy Faust could have been a Cub
Harry asked her to go to the Cubs when he did and Nancy refused.

Andrew Benintendi traded to the Royals
Well let's see how that works out. I wanted the Sox to trade for him in the past because he was still relatively young and I thought he had potential as a LH bat in our line-up and would have been a decent option in RF.

Have the White Sox "spent the money" that Rick Hahn promised?
My own opinion, knowing the Bridgeport area, the South Loop, U of I Circle, Taylor Street, South Halsted street from Sox park to Greek-town, and all of the South Suburbs, is that the current location at 35th street will only gain in value and become more friendly for Sox fans over time. The Reinsdorfs (Jerry and his son) will almost certainly seek an extension on the current deal with ISA instead of seeking an alternative site to build on. In turn, the ISA will have no other alternative but to deal with them. What would ISA's leverage be? Put a soccer team in there ? Knock down the park and sell the land to a developer? I suppose the Sox could build on the site of the Old Comiskey at some point. They could do a bang up job picking up architectural cues from the old park and from the history of Chicago architecture. Much could be done to develop the surrounding area which has already undergone quite a bit of gentrification.

2021 Super Bowl LV Chiefs v Bucs
KC's back up Offensive tackles were dominated. It ruined KC's running game and made Mahomes run for his life the entire game. That ruined KC's chances and made the game a joke blow-out.

2021 Super Bowl LV Chiefs v Bucs
I thought that there was a bad non-call when a TB lineman slapped Mahomes helmet after he was down. Mahomes complained but no flag. Mahomes was not that far removed from concussion protocol, which is not all that predictive of future concussion. He did not look like he was entirely there, especially after he was hit a few times. His helmet looked like it was on a bobble head doll. Edited to add - no excuse for the loss, but it was what it was, a shitty, non-competitive game with bad calls, bad announcing (Romo) terrible half-time show, and commercials.

2021 Super Bowl LV Chiefs v Bucs
Sorry but taunting is an @hole move and most people took it that way...both times,

Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
Our Ace Gio is signed for 4.15 Mil. It would only cause problems now and in the future if they signed Bauer for 35 Million a year. Plus, Bauer is an @hole which is hard to quantify.

Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
Beyond money, the fact is that Bauer has had issues with teammates and organizations that he has played for in the past. He is a lone wolf, not a team player. I never liked the guy and am glad he is not on the White Sox. Meanwhile, I think we will all enjoy seeing pitchers compete for the 4th and 5th starter positions. Much more interesting than handing it to someone, IMO.

All-Chicago Team
I like the Sox at every position but the Cubs still have an intact core of Bryant Rizzo Contreras, Baez, Heyward and now Joc Pedersen. Maybe they will be better than we think. Schwarber was a good non-tender and Joc could hit 30+ HR, especially in Wrigley. They needed a TOR starter or two which is why the Ricketts probably should have been in on Bauer. Not sure what the plan is over there.

Who are you rooting for or betting on and why?

So a Giolito extension...
What would you sign Gio for/ 4/100 with a team option for a 5th year?
-
Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
I hope for a replay of the 1959 World Series match-up with Eloy taking Trevor Bauer DEEP with a walk-off home run to go up 3-0 in the Series.
-
Dodgers sign Bauer (3/102, opt-outs, 40-45-17)
Fuck Trevor Bauer and Fuck the Dodgers. Time for MLB to get a grip. Salary caps + revenue sharing = Credibility and competitiveness. Economic Stimulus checks are too big you say? 40 Million / $1,400 = 28,571 people Sorry to wax about political/social ideology, but wealth inequality in this country just gets uglier every time you see something like this.

Giolito Working on a New Pitch..."The Downer"
Maybe time to sign Gio to an extension before he gets any better and wants the Moon.
-
Jonathan Lucroy signs minor league deal with White Sox
Grandal had a back issue last season. It may not return but suppose Grandal sustains a serious injury late in the season. Then you have Collins and Yermin as your catching duo going into the play-offs?

Realistic expectation for Vaughn in 21
I do not think an extra year of control is worth the game. The Sox can always offer to extend Vaughn if he appears worthy and, in turn, Vaughn can wait to seek an extension,,perhaps after a year where his performance makes it clear that he deserves big money. That is sort of why I would like to extend Giolito instead of waiting much longer. If he gets any better his asking price could be astronomical.

Realistic expectation for Vaughn in 21
After reading the thread, I am doubling down on my opinion that Vaughn can break camp with the major league club *IF* he rakes in Sprong Training, i.e., over .300 BA and jacks 3 or more HRs.
