  1. Now it looks as if Collins and Vaughn will be added. Unproven prospects. Might work out, might not.
  2. I am concerned that he isn't hitting the ball as hard and therefore is not providing the home run threat that he did in July and August. https://www.si.com/mlb/whitesox/features/a-dive-into-luis-roberts-september-slump
  3. Robert isn't hitting the ball as hard as he did in July and August.
  4. 1. Ozzie said that he would rather see a flag for this year that says "2020 Division Championship", and I agree with him. 2. That might be all that the Sox get this season. It is within reach. 3. The Cubs and Cub fans would get a rise out of denying the White Sox the Division Championship and busting their balls going into the play-offs. 4. "Stoney" is wrong.
  5. With Bieber starting one game for the Tribe and ReyLo starting one for the WhiteSox I feel like we lose 2/3 of the remaining games with Cleveland and maybe get swept. If that happens the Cubs are going to be in a position to deny the Sox the Division championship....and that may end up being all they get this season. Encarcion should only be used as a pinch hitter with the proviso that Renteria never calls for a pinch hitter. Too late to DFA him, just bench the old sob.
  6. Ball game Sorry to be negative but I can't watch this shit any more tonight
  7. This is the kind of game that makes Soxtalk posters want to eat one another's young. Frustrating out the azz.
  8. I always thought of Kopech in the same vein that some now consider Crochet - as a lights out flame throwing setup man or Closer.... and for the same reasons that some have expressed here. I wish Kopech could be with the team to enjoy this run. It has been fun so far.
  9. I agree with that. No way Collins comes up to DH. That would be a joke.
  10. Crochet may provide the bullpen what many of us hoped we might have gotten from Kopech - a late inning flame thrower. This season only seems to get more interesting as we move along...a season that a lot of fans thought was a waste of time to even ponder just a few months ago. Who among us isn't enjoying this season now ? I just feel grateful to the players and everyone involved for making this season happen whether we come away with a pennant or WS or not.
  11. As someone else mentioned, this series with the Twins fired up Eloy and even guys on the bench who aren't playing every day. The games had the urgency of the play-offs, and we won 3 out of 4. Cody Heuer came into his own as a set-up guy. Colome had ice in his veins. Madrigal showed how to focus and grind out every at-bat. Pito proved he is what we thought he was - the leader of this team. If a few more guys pick up their game, the Sox could go to the World Series...THIS YEAR. There, I not only thought about it, I said it.
  12. ReyLo looked pretty good until he allowed that home run in the 6th inning. He kept the Sox in the ballgame and that is all that they needed.
  13. Thank you ChiSox59. I found the article with the comments from Menechino you mentioned. MENECHINO: “I haven’t figured that out. He’s in between mechanics sometimes. He’s in between approach sometimes. There has to be some kind of pressing going on in there. Sometimes he’s in an advantage count and gets fast to the ball. “We have a team that’s hitting really good, and we have a team that’s scoring a lot of runs. So maybe sometimes guys just say, ‘Hey, let me just do whatever I can to help the team win.' Not focus personally on their goals and stuff. ... He does his work. He does everything really good in the cage. He prepares. He’s doing everything he can do. And that’s all I can ask.” https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/news/frank-menechino-on-2020-playoff-preparation
  14. Has Menechino been asked about Mazara's struggles by the Sox beat writers? It doesn't look like Mazara has changed a thing since day one in a Sox uniform.
  15. Platoon Engel and Mazara in RF. Ask the great Menechino to help Mazara with his stance, approach and swing. EE - Star using Grandal and McCann as DH instead of EE when they are not catching. Maybe bring up Mercedes to DH some. Not sure if Vaughn can handle DH yet and it's awfully late to experiment.
  16. Eloy was raking...two hits and a line drive out in that game. You have to take that in consideration, not just stats.
