  1. From CBS sports: "Woods received a promotion to Triple-A in June after turning in a 3.16 ERA and 1.17 WHIP through 25.2 innings at Double-A Altoona, but he has surrendered 10 runs in just 11.2 frames since moving up a level. The 24-year-old southpaw could remain at Triple-A upon joining his new organization, but his performance will likely need to improve before he draws consideration for a call-up to the bigs." So yea, Woods looks like he is heading to the Minors. McDougal, Sandelin or a few other guys could get promoted. Should know before game time.
  2. Jaden Fauske is a great WSox prospect who played with Landon Thome at Nazareth. Both are Chicago area kids (I think Willowbrook and Burr Ridge). Yea, I understand you don't make draft decisions based on friendships, but then again, that could make these prospects more comfortable as they proceed through the system - plus having Big Jim as their mentor. You add some of the young talent in the minors like George Wolkow (another one of my Chicago area favorites) and the No. 1 pick tomorrow, and the Sox could be very good for the next 10 years. Getz has delivered a first place team with promise for the future. He was an internal organization hire that was panned by a lot of posters here.
  3. Massive power bats typically lack the OBP that Antonacci has. Most power hitters (excluding premier players like Buxton) would probably not be better than Sam in LF. Having both Chase and Antonacci on the field and in the line-up has been a revelation this season - absolute gamers, clutch hitters and table setters. They are part of a great line-up that personally, I would not mess with. If you want more RH thump in the line-up, OK, I do as well, but maybe another Grichiuk type as a platoon DH/ pinch hitter.
  4. Shut up CWS.😉..Tristan hit for the cycle.
  5. I believe that the proposed stadium on the East side of the canal is in Pilsen or right next to it.
  6. Move the stadium to Pilsen for Csake.
  7. Yes many Mexican Americans from that area in the stands.
  8. Yes, especially on trains from the Naperville area. That's a hotbed for White Sox fans who like to take the train to the park.
  9. Great crowd...I understand that most coming in on trains from the Naperville area.
  10. Uh, the parking garage off Randolph was part of the proposed plan for at least 2 years. Not sure what existing parking structures you are referring to or really, what you are talking about. The information in my post was about how Related partners (Auchi, Mansueto) are seeking TIF financing (instead of Mansueto's original promise to use his own money). Because the Mayor and his allies in the City Council support the TIF, I would imagine it will be approved. Related originally included a certain amount of affordable housing in their plans submitted to the City, but now, they have flip-flopped on that as well.
  11. But the White Sox have reinforcements against this dreaded LH pitching - Perez, Romo and Acuna. Surely the splits will save us.
  12. Related Development partners,LLC (Auchi, Mansueto) are seeking $425 Million TIF financing to make infrastructure improvements which mainly consists of a 1,200 space underground parking garage (similar in capacity to the Grant Park South underground garage) Related's proposal is that the City of Chicago own and operate the garage and that the City can have some share of parking revenue on days when there is no soccer match. Mayor Brandon has been a vocal supporter of the proposed TIF financing. However, the proposed funding has drawn criticism from some members of the City Council including Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez who stated that the use of public money contradicts earlier assurances about private financing. "If the owner of the Chicago Fire states that they will use only private money, then do so. But you cannot have it both ways, and now say, well, it's going to be about $425 million," Sigcho-Lopez said. This bait and switch reminds me of the ballroom deal. Edited to add - in a hopefully unrelated matter: https://abc7chicago.com/post/chicago-crime-police-investigating-explosion-outside-25th-ward-ald-sigcho-lopezs-home-west-21st-street-south-damen-avenue/19291456/
  13. I think Kyle may have been on to something when he opined that Davis Martin might be experiencing shoulder or arm problems. It looked like that to me as well after looking at Davis' fastballs that did not hit their mark...in some cases by a lot.
  14. JR potentially maintains ownership and control until 2034. IF that is the timeline, JR and the current Sox Board will have to make some decisions about extending Mune and other players as well as potentially adding pitchers. I am going contrary to the understandable expectation that the Sox will not spend money in order to go for the Division. This is the best team the Sox have had in quite a spell.
  15. Cleve got walked off.,
  16. It's too bad this thing is basically over after 4 innings. I'm heading out to rebuild my Weber Q.
  17. He was leading off an inning and the Sox need a base runner..
  18. Davis coming off the mound pointing to the sky. No help from above though.
  19. With Noah and this guy sucking, Getz really has a tough job in front of him. Very disappointing for fans here and at the ballpark.
  20. Davis was supposed to be the Ace not the @ss.
  21. Nothin' going right. Another tough one to watch so far.
  22. Disappointing answer to the three runs - quick 1-2-3.
  23. Let's go. Get one back.
  24. You're kidding, right?
