Live Nation Entertainment owns Credit Union 1 Amphitheater in Tinley Park. That would be a great location near the center of Sox Nation if the Sox ever move from their historic home.

No team will take on the balance of Robert's contract. Not sure how the Sox get rid of his contract any time soon in order to minimize their loss. Waiting for Robert to start hitting is supposedly the strategy but that has been painful for us fans to watch. Scouting reports are not even required on Robert now. Everybody in the ballpark knows that Robert can't cover low/outside or low/inside pitches , that is, everyone but Robert himself. Maybe another hitting coach can help him. He has the athletic ability but needs to make a lot of adjustments.

Colson is getting close to being characterized as a complete bust so the thought may have been, take every chance you can, play hurt whatever. You are almost toast.

The double steal is a Little League play. The Little leaguer's defense to it was for the catcher to fake a throw to second by throwing to the pitcher who could easily gun down the runner from third. I watch a lot of Sox games (unlike some posters...) and have been enjoying some competitive games against good teams. If you don't watch the games and want to just post sarcastic comments about the team, go ahead, but your comments ring hollow. The team has been improving and we have some damn good players and pitchers.

That is what the Sox did with Kopech. It was a waste of time for him and for the team . A top reliever can have a lucrative, long and great career.

As was pointed out during the Broadcast by Shriff, Sox have been a bit more patient/disciplined at the plate as of late. Generally, they are not chasing as many bad pitches and forcing pitchers to go deeper into counts. That helps hitters get more pitches in the zone to hit. It seems like common sense, but it's easier said than done when facing top MLB pitchers. That trend over the past few games is great, and it makes me not miss Andrew Vaughn, Elko, and Luis Robert in the line-up. It also makes me wonder why Colson Montgomery would ever be brought up to the majors. Our infield is set other than 1B - Vargas 3B , Meidrith SS, Sosa 2B. Please no Colson Montgomery.

Some young starting pitching prospects would never consider (unless forced into) a role as a reliever. Some of them probably should, particularly those who have big fastballs that probably cannot work in an extended outing. Yes the money for relievers is not going to match that of a top of rotation starter, but if one can make it to the big leagues and stick as a high leverage reliever or Closer, why not? I thought early on that Kopech should have focused on coming in for a few innings and blowing away hitters with 100mph+ fastballs, but no, he kept insisting that he could be a starter. Sox had Goode Gossage, a pitcher that went to the Yankees and had a 20+ year career as a reliever.

Hard to maintain focus on the need for a Closer when the Sox only score one run. On that note, bring up Kyle Teel.

Plesac is a great choice for color commentary. He will make you forget the Benetti / Stone broadcast team so fast it isn't funny.

The infield with Vargas, Meidroth, Sosa and Elko should have been given more time. Yes Sosa is not the best defender but he has a strong arm to turn double plays, has decent range and above all, he is starting to hit. Elko needed another week or two to adjust. Now the Sox are going to really jumble the infield mix in by bringing up Colson. I have a feeling he is not going to hit, will make errors at SS and there will be calls to DFA him.

Plesac, the other big man from Gary, as a mlb pitcher, was a Sox killer. I did not look up the stats to verify that, but I would not be surprised if they bear my memories of him out. Too bad he didn't play for the Sox.

Signing my cousin Capra must mean we won't see Colson up from the Minors any time soon, and if we do, the Sox will hedge their bets by having a back-up plan.

LH or RH swing ? I recall that he launched some balls LH with an uppercut swing. Brooks is a young player that might be trying to do too much to impress.

Those vile comments were too close to home for me on several fronts as well so I can begin to understand how Liam is outraged by this. He might be on to something when he opines that the sheer evil behind some of the most outrageous comments have only been made worse by the rise in sports gambling. That makes sports and player performance more than just a game for gamblers.

I pretty much agree that Elko should have been given a longer look. That said, sending Vaughn and Elko down seems to make sense if the purpose was to cut down on non-competitive at-bats, easy strike-outs in key at-bats, double play balls, and especially in Vaughn's case, a lack of speed on the bases. One theory is that the Sox could be manipulating the roster to eventually open up a roster spot for Colson. I hope that isn't the case.

Stone commented yesterday that in prior years, pitching was the most sought after commodity in baseball, but now "power" is. I share that view with him. Yankees figured that out long ago, maybe a real long time ago.

For the time being...pencil Vargas 3b, Meidroth SS, Sosa 2B, Elko 1B, and Vaughn DH. Elko is an athletic defender at 1B with a long reach, good arm and great hands. He stays if he hits home runs at a decent pace. Speaking of Elko someone I know thinks that, head on, he reminds them of Travis Kelce.

We were jumping up and down complaining about Eisert going in to protect a one run lead. Hard to win too many close games with a terrible bullpen.
