  1. Sheets HR #15. Time to acknowledge he's a real prospect. Leading league in ribbies!
  2. Robert,Madrigal and Vaughn will all be added in 2020. Seems to me that we'll have as potent an offense as any one. Sign a real starter and give him 4-5 years. Might miss the playoffs next year, but you never know. 2021 we'll be knee deep in pitching as well.

    8/8 Games

Pulled a hammy on home run trot. just kidding!
  4. What kind of year would BR have next year if he were sent back to WS. Probably a triple crown kind of year. Being 2 years younger in a baseball career is the equivalent of a player taking HGH, versus the same player not taking them. Think Duke Snyder vs. Hank Aaron.
  5. Rutherford 2018 WS .345/.436. age 21 years 3 months. Walker 2019 WS .358/.447. age 23 years. Similar numbers. In baseball age, huge advantage for Rutherford. One other thing. Rutherford is 4" taller 20 lbs. heavier and about the same speed.

    Madrigal

The fact that you are probably right makes me feel a little queasy.
  7. As far as Collins goes, 25-30 ABs is nothing. It will be hard for him to get plate appearances with McCann catching a lot. They might as well DH him and back up at catcher the rest of the year.

    Madrigal

If it were up to me, I'd promote Robert, Madrigal and Collins to the Majors. There will be a learning curve in MLB so they might as well get started now. The Sox are finished for the year and playing these guys won't hurt a bit. With Cease already up the fans could really see what the rebuild is all about. It might also convince a major free agent pitcher the Sox have the talent to win. One other thing, by letting go of some older guys, the clubhouse might take on a fun infectious feel. The last 2 months of losing baseball can be a real drag.
  9. At least he'll have 20 months healing time before the games count. Start at 4 innings a start and stretch him out.
  10. Cecil Fielder could hit really long homers.
  11. Yeah, we'll go the cheap route. Is David Wells still breathing?
  12. I have a copy of baseball digest with Dick Allen on the cover with his autograph on it. Best present my son ever gave me.
  13. The idea of this thread is perfect. Cole would make us world series contenders tomorrow.
  14. I love Harold Baines. He is not a HOF player. If he didn't wreck his knee, maybe. When he was mobile, he could really play RF like nobody's business.
  15. Every day he wastes at low A is another day that Yoan and Gio get closer to free agency. The goal is to get your good players all playing together at the same time. If Vaughn is what they say he is, we're the dumbest team in baseball. P.S. Madrigal and Robert appear to be ready. Lets go.
  16. .351 BA over last 6 weeks. Plays a good corner OF. Stays healthy. 2 years younger than LuGon. 1 years younger than Sheets. Took time to adjust to AA, but is killing it now.
  17. Vaughn still in Kannapolis. What a waste of time. #9 prospect in mlb beating up pitchers of low quality.
  18. Promising season for Sheets. Doubled homer out put from last year with 8 weeks to go in a tougher place to hit. Has a real good glove at 1B as well. He and Blake Rutherford could be key pieces in a play off push in 2021.
  19. One thing that bugs me. Most important team in development (AA) hasn't played in a week because of weather. For a little money the Sox could have used an empty park of a team playing on the road and kept playing. Sure, it would have been a hassle. It also would have been worth it.
  20. Vaughn 3rd. high OBP
  21. teach him a splitter and he could be great out of the pen. if his arm only lasts 4-5 years, it'd be better than being bad for 7-8 years.
  22. I think that will sound like an insult to Abreu. DH/1B types can be found on the cheap, But he's been real good for a long time and I honestly don't think the Sox will play hard ball with him.
  23. Sox might have a log jam at 1B and DH in a couple of years. Gavin Sheets is actually starting to hit for power, while keeping his plate discipline intact. With Abreu, Vaughn and Zack Collins already in the mix, the Pale Hose might have a good kind of problem on their hands. I sure hope Eloy improves enough defensively to stay in the outfield.
  24. No, but the comedian in the film does examine the stages of death until finally accepting his fate.
