  1. It might be a good time to try and get Carson Kelly. Cards are down on him and he hasn't hit in the majors yet. We possibly could get him cheap and his defense is good. You never know about the bat, but his MLB hit sample is so small that he could end up being OK with the bat.
  2. Spent 5 minutes checking player results and stats this morning. WOW !! Man are we loaded.
  3. Gotta feeling we'll be picking 7-8. Eloy will be up soon, plus the rotation and bull pen are improving whether we bring up Kopech and Stephens or not.
  4. I would have picked Stephens and Collins. JS is as ready for the bigs as he'll ever be.
  5. Rodon sharp again last night. If he comes up and pitches well and we call up Stevens and Kopech, the second half of the season would be fun to watch.
  6. Also my favorite WS. If he were traded now I probably couldn't watch an inning until we get good again.
  7. It's interesting that Macho man is hitting so well this year. Last year he didn't do too much. He must have contract year-itis
  8. Just my opinion but I really thought the reason Gordon got worse was that he had stopped juicing. It is really rare that a guy loses weight and muscle mass as he reaches his mid to late 20's. And that did happen with him.
  9. That guy is the king of kicking some one when they are down. As a 50 year SOX fan I'm used to it.
  10. Three letters DNA, P.S. Why don't you give the team a call. Maybe you guys could hold a John Burge day next season.

Please don't lump Leury in with those other guys. He's actually a fine defender at 2-3 positions including center field. If the SOX would have just put him in center on opening day instead of playing him 15 minutes a week while Engel wasted every ones time, we might have 3-4 more wins.

Give up the ghost Lillian. I think its impossible to "learn" to hit MLB pitching. You can or you can't. It's like sales.
  13. We could give TA a month off and it wouldn't bother me a bit.
  14. With a little luck, he might end up playing regularly for bad teams for 5-6 more years. With more luck he could be a sub for a good team for 5-6 years. He'd make more money on a bad team though. Plus, some guys can't hit when playing twice a week.
  15. It's always darkest before the dawn. Try to stay off the ledge until late july. When Jordan Stevens,Jimenez and Kopech get here we'll still lose but there will be something to watch for.
  16. I'm not defending Hahn, but it seems different now. Maybe behind the scenes KW is out of the way and Hahn and Hostetler are actually making the tough calls. One thing I think most would agree with is the players acquired for Sale, Eaton and Q look very good. That was the first part of the rebuild. If the next 2 drafts go well, then the second part will also be successful. the final stage will be using these stock piled players in trade to yield a talented balanced team. If this is achieved, Hahns future job will be to trade veterans to acquire our future stars and keep the ball rolling. Branch Rickey was the master of this and he was able to stay competitive for decades even with the Yankees getting the lions share of amateur talent before the draft.
  17. Between Bummer and Fry it looks OK on the lefty side of the pen gong forward. Flores has been pitching well at WS also.
  18. Luis Gonzo needs to be promoted. He's playing well, but at a level to low for his age and ability. If he goes up to WinSalem and survives the leap, he becomes a real prospect. Joel booker seems to be the player to be moved up to Birmingham to make room for Gonzo. Booker will be 25 in august. Time to sink or swim with the big boys.
  19. Could we be looking at the next Joe Morgan but with a little more power? If so, we could win the Sale trade without any other players. i
  20. Hansen may be the key player in the system. If he really ends up being what we hope he will, the Sox could go from a good club to great.
  21. Where is Alec Hansen? What is he doing? How is his fore arm? Enough of the secrecy please. Knowing our luck with injuries lately, he's probably working out with Carlos Rodon
  22. 73-89. Wishing for a real slow start and a better finish. If they go 63-99 I wouldn't complain.
