Harry Caray Book...
Cubs fans got a slightly less great version of Harry than we did. When people age they become caricatures of themselves, and Harry was no different.

Driveline tried to analyze effectiveness of each org's player dev, guess how sox did
2 years from now they'll say we're the best. When you suck for 5-6 years straight, this is self evident

4.21 Games
Gavin is about 230 pounds of muscle. If he figures out how to elevate, stand back and watch.

Future White Sox Lineup #GetExcited
Dark horse candidate for 1B. Gavin Sheets.
-
4/19 Games #CeaseRainedOutDay
I think Gavin Sheets is making the adjustment to AA pitching. 7 walks 48 at bats, 9 hits in his last 29 ab. I really hope he starts driving the ball one day because he's a good fielder at 1st. With his batting eye he'll have a high enough OBP to be an asset if he can get 50 XBH's a year.

Tim Anderson to be suspended 1 game for... language?
This thread is quite humorous, and yet I'm still in the group that wishes TA would tone down the theatrics a bit. You're almost asking to be drilled with a bat flip like that.

Bring Back Gio pt Deux?Update: Signed by Brewcrew
I feel we can always use more sarcasm on soxtalk.

Early Promotions?
Should Luis Robert skip AA and go straight to Charlotte? He'd probably face better off speed stuff in AAA and that's the last thing before MLB. Add Madrigal to the list as well.
-
Early Promotions?
All Bernardo Flores does is pitch. If he was a high draft pick, he'd be in the majors now. Keep an eye on Codi Heur.

White Sox Winner!!
Probably right. At least now there is a reason to watch. Add Cease,Robert ,Madrigal to the mix and look out.

4/15 Games
Who cares. If the Sox hadn't made the trade and kept those guys we still would have sucked. Maybe Rutherford develops and maybe he doesn't, but he has shown the ability to hit and catch.

Rick Hahn, Nick Hostetler, Jeremy Haber, and our minor league systems
If you're the second best lead off hitter for 10-15 years (Rickey Henderson) and steal 800 bases you're a hall of famer. If he were on the 1970s Reds team instead of Pete Rose, He'd have been a first ballot member. Some people forget how terrible a place to play for stats Olympic stadium was.

Alec Hansen a Reliever Now?
I don't think there is a comparison with Fulmer. Hansen can be dominant when healthy. Last season started out with fore arm tightness followed by a long layoff, followed by baby step throwing. I'll bet all that was accompanied by large doses of fear. He had a terrible year in college the same way. The question I have is whether or not he'll lose his career to injury.

4/14 Games - Cease Day
20 years ago we couldn't follow minor leaguers so closely. Although it's a good thing we can now, it definitely makes for nervous nellies whenever some one has a tough week. Try and wait until May 15th or so to panic.

2019 MLB draft thread
Are the Royals and Orioles 5 years away from competing again? If so they might be amenable to a draft and trade next year with the Sox. Pick Rutchman and trade him next June for 3-4 minor leaguers. Catchers usually burn out faster then position players so it might work time line wise.

04/09/2019 Sox vs Rays
Sounds like he deserved it too. It seems like the baseball life style is tough on relationships in general.

The Rick Hahn Dynasty
I believe the phrase is "stink or swim".

PICKING A TEAM
Nice post. Dick Allen and Wilbur Wood did it for me. 1972 and 1977 still mean a little more to me than 2005, but it was great to win it all.

Dallas Keuchel time is now.
Can you get around that by offering him a minor league contract with a 12 million bonus for making the major league team?
-
Sox and Tribe Game #2
true dat.
-
Sox Win!
Add Nova as a.500 pitcher, and Santana,Cease and others. Pitching might be OK.
-
Sox and Tribe Game #2
Am surprised by his defense, but he's been playing 3rd for a while. He'll bounce back.

Jose Ruiz called up
Agreed. On the other hand, JR has more potential than 90% of our pen. Maybe they ship some one else back when TA returns.

Giolito thread
Is any body old enough to remember Jim Kaat going from a fading player to a star again with nothing more than a new delivery?
