  1. Twice, I hope. Bazinga!
  2. All things considered, JR will never have a better time to sell the Sox. No future obligations, and the next owner can do just about any thing they want. Paid 12$ million for the team and turned a tidy profit every year. What would he expect to receive? 1$ billion or more ? On top of every thing else, he actually won a ring to boot. Please Mr. Reinsdorf, sell the team. Life long fans like myself need some hope.

Has there been an Alec Hansen sighting yet this spring?

Hey Chet , why don't you have a hot sleeping lady for your picture?
  5. I realize the game changes over time and pitching has changed radically. Every time I see a guy throw 90+ pitches and get yanked for an inferior pitcher it makes me question these changes. Guys use to pitch more and it seems like they didn't get hurt more. Sure, a lot of guys blew out their arms but that was before doctors could fix any thing. If a team went back to 7-8 inning starters and 5 man bullpens, it would speed up the game and more innings would be pitched by better pitchers. That would give teams a competitive advantage.
  6. I don't agree. Players who had similar years with out a track record have negative trade value. Due to injury and a slow start Jose had a bad year. Contending teams with a need for a bat will take a chance on a bounce back year, especially with a good guy like JA. Being on a contender might have a positive effect on Jose when he plays in meaningful games for once.
  7. And now I give you Ed Farmer. Is that some kind of sick joke?
  8. I'd have to take melke off your list and add Darren Erstad instead.
  9. does this mean a john jay dfa?
  10. I'm an Alex Call fan. Wouldn't surprise me to see him become a regular in the bigs. 2-2.5 war player sounds about right.
  11. If Santana simply returns to good health, he'll be infinitely more valuable in july than Dylan Covey. We might end up with a solid prospect if it works out. I'm bummed that we didn't get MM as much as any one, but this move isn't related to that. If EV is toast, the Sox cut him. No harm no foul.
  12. Future looks bleak and promising at the same time. Born a Sox fan and will die one. Probably won't give them any of my money for a while. We're at the same point as 1970-71 off season. Terrible team and ownership. Some very good prospects. Only hope is that team was 2nd best team in AL less than 2 years later. Is the next Wilbur Wood sitting in our bullpen right now? Will we trade a sore armed lefty[Rodon] for the best player in baseball? I highly doubt it.
  13. I love [orange] juice. Frank Thomas was twice the hitter this cheater was.
  14. I doubt that would happen even if he was only 95. Reinsdorf isn't that way and his family probably isn't either. Racism seems to run in families although not always.
  15. Never cared for Hawk. I always felt they should have dumped him and kept Wimpy.
  16. can't do it. Wilbur wood retired in 1979.
  17. Is it worth giving up anything for JP if we don't sign Harper or Machado? Next year we'll be either bad or just so-so with out them. Adding JP probably wouldn't change that. When 2020 roles around the outfield might start to get crowded as well.
  18. LA is a tough place to hit. Pollack should have signed with the Rockies.
  19. Sinclair deal falls thru. Cubs on espn 8 {the ocho} next season.
  20. Say Van de Lay
  21. The 1 thing that will make the Sox good in 2020 is bringing up 7-8 talented relievers in 2019 and let them take their lumps. We probably have more quality relief prospects than any team in baseball. With Dunning, Kopech, Cease and others joining the rotation in 2020, pitching could soon be a strength.
  22. I hope #5 was in jest.
  23. dick allen, wilbur wood, oscar gamble, richie zisk and mark buerhle. in some ways wilbur wood was more than a baseball favorite. the knuckle ball almost seemed to make life more fair for guys who weren't born with much athleticism.
  24. Compare these 2 players since turning pro. I hope I am missing something with Walker, because Alex Call dominated Kannapolis at the same age that Walker couldn't hit .190 there. Call is considered to be better in the field than Walker is as well. Call has shown that he belongs in AA, and going forward he has a real chance to reach the majors. I don't know Calls best outcome, but his floor appears to be a productive 4th outfielder. I'll admit I don't know much about Walker. Was he fighting a minor injury after playing all year in college? Is that the reason for his unimpressive debut? If anyone has info for Walker please let me know. All I've seen is his top 30 page on white sox.com . Going by this limited info I would have kept Call and traded Walker to the Indians.
