Having the best year by any position player not named Eloy. Statistically his defense is first rate, although I've never seen him play. He's been slightly older than some of our other prospects, but not old for his league. Just how good is this guy?
-
Did anyone notice yet that Alex Call murders lefties? That might really help if Dan Palka ends up as our primary DH. The fact that he's a pretty good outfielder could be good too. Give your starting OF's a day at DH when a lefty is pitching.
-
I heard that. Eloy and Kopech news is exciting , but the best news I've heard in the last 2 weeks Are Carlos Rodons starts. If he's finally healthy, our rotation could be really good really soon.

I'm not sure about that. While he hasn't taken walks yet, he always has in the past. When ever most players are promoted, their bb/k rates usually crater for a bit and then start to recover. He's a little old and a horrific outfielder, but he may end up around .850 ops for 3-4 yrs. That would be a good thing.

Race for the worst 2018 record (Top 5 pick) again

I hope we can hang on. The team has looked a little too feisty the last couple of nights. Maybe we can bench Abreu for a week (lack of hustle) until he cools off. -
2019 white sox rotation rodon, kopech, giolito, cease, lopez.

Not sure, but he has always hit at every stop in the minors and he's always taken his walks too. Strike outs will always be high. Is that as big of a problem as it used to be ?

8/2 Sox v, Royal Lopez pitching

The good news is he always has walked in the minors. If the game slows down a bit for him with more MLB experience, the walks should go up. I doubt he'll be hitting this many pinch hit homers all the time though. -
Isn't this the same thing that happened to him at OSU? Had a fore arm issue and sucked his sophomore year. If it is he might end up having TJS eventually.

How many bats did Marl Beurhle miss

You are correct. I some times feel Like a prisoner in stir who is trying to mark time by playing hand ball in the yard.

Big hairy deal. I think with all the injuries this season, I've become jaded to recovery updates.

I hate rooting for losses, but sometimes you have to suck it up. -
Palka by a mile. Matt might switch over to pitching full time.LOL

Hahn will be able to point to the Quintana trade in a similar manner shortly. Now there is a trade that doesn't have KW finger prints on it.
-
Excellent article about Daniel Palka by Dom Partipilo. He's only 26 and depending on future walk rates, he could really be a big time run producer.

I'm 56 and the Cubs have always had more fans. Just start winning and every thing will be okay.
-
Been following him for 2 years now and all he does is get guys out. Between Flores and Medieros, we should be fine from the left side.
-
I've been belly aching about this for 2 weeks. Advanced hit tool, great eye, excellent defense. Should be in the bigs next year, and the Sox are spoon feeding him.
-
So you're saying theirs a chance? What was all that 1 in a 1,000,000 talk?
-
Bring him up. I'm saying this only half kiddingly.
-
Best comment I've ever read.
-
Just bring him up already. I might be dead in 7 years. p.s. Jerry might be too.

Alex has been killing it at AA for a month. He also played very well in 2016 before injuries took a toll last season. What will he become in the future? He's 23, which leaves enough time for more development. Is he going to be a good 4th outfielder or an everyday player? His skill set reminds me quite a bit of Alex Gordon. With as many out- fielders as the Sox have he might get lost in the shuffle. Could end up a Rule #5 steal for some other club.
