well, at least the lockout might solve the Sox innings limit issues with some of its starters and assure that Keuchel does not reach 160 IP

I'm a lot more comfortable with Baez being on the Tigers than the other possibilities. -

good name for pitching October baseball -
they might even be able to get these places subsidized as affordable housing, since they pay their players so poorly. add a training facility and keep them there year round. Offer it to local travel teams in the off season and the players could pick up some extra money as part time coaches

I don't see much discussion about going after Story and moving him to 2b. He will still be only 29 throughout '22 and before he bottomed out (hopefully) last year, he was consistently a borderline MVP candidate. I know it's been debated here and I have nothing knew to add to the discussion but I see 2b as the place to target money rather than RF.

and proper nutrition as well If I were teams, I'd build dorms in all of my minor league cities that included enough housing for players and a cafeteria on the ground floor. I'd double the rooms and offer opposing teams a secured place to stay at a cost to recapture some of my investment. This really would give you the opportunity to offer all sorts of life improving things to players, like ESL classes for foreigners and counseling. Maybe even have a families floor for married players that provided daycare so a wife could work. If everything goes badly, you could always convert them to apartments.

is there some other capacity other than pitcher which interests them Maybe he knows the secret to a perfect pour and could help at the premium beer stand

any thoughts on trading Grandal? We would be selling high, after his strong second half. He has a big contract, but it is only for two more years, so it shouldn't be daunting to even budget minded teams. Replace him with a more defensive minded catcher, who will obviously be cheaper. Then they would really have to find a veteran LH hitter for either RF or 2B.

We are going to be placing a lot of faith in Michael Kopech becoming no worse than a middle of the rotation pitcher immediately. I guess we had to do it eventually but I'm not just immediately penning him in as that level. I think Larussa has to develop an approach with Keuchel that he will never see a batter a third time. He was allowed to start the 6th too many times this year. His days as an innings eater are done.

one more thing, if it is easy to acquire, include only the playoff starters

Do you have the capability to tease that out to only starting pitching? I'd like to see what those numbers look like.

Something will have gone very wrong with the season if the Sox are trading him at the deadline. If he is here, he is here for the long haul.

I have a fear that we saw the beginnings of the natural age related decline of Abreu this year.

I would really like for Lynn to rededicate himself to his craft and spend the off season getting into his best shape. The knee injury is certainly related to weight and his fading in second halves are related to conditioning. It's something entirely controllable and will pay dividends for the team and himself. Is it just old head thinking that I would like the Sox to be much more active on the bases next year? They have high end speed at several positions and I do think it impacted on 1st to 3rd and 2nd to home situations this year. I'd like to see them put pressure on the pitcher with their speed, not just fielders. I think we saw what smart, situational running can do during this series.

If Larussa had any dignity he would retire when the season ended. He had his fun but his time is over. I wish Hahn had the balls to issue the ultimatum that he would not hire Larussa -
