July 23, 20169 yr White Sox general manager Rick Hahn clarified what occurred in a statement released at about 6:45 p.m. ET. "Chris Sale has been scratched from tonight's scheduled start and sent home from the ballpark by the White Sox due to a clubhouse incident before the game," Hahn said. "The incident, which was non-physical in nature, currently is under further investigation by the club. The White Sox will have no additional comment until the investigation is completed."
July 23, 20169 yr QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 02:53 PM) How is it the organizations fault that this happened again? They've let him throw a few temper tantrums with no repercussions. Just because he is good doesn't mean he can say whatever he wants to upper management and get it thrown around the internet making the whole team look bad.

Just because he is good doesn't mean he can say whatever he wants to upper management and get it thrown around the internet making the whole team look bad. Now that's true. John Middlekauff @JohnMiddlekauff 30s31 seconds ago My theory/guess: an exec or number cruncher told sale he was scratched b/c he may or may not get traded then sale lost it on the dude. https://twitter.com/JohnMiddlekauff
July 23, 20169 yr Not good news at all. Why in the world would you tell everyone you scratched a guy actively involved in trade talks due to some incident and are currently investigating. I see no good coming out of this.
July 23, 20169 yr Lot of speculations, but I k now that he has been VERY unhappy being pulled by Ventura the last few games. You wonder if all frustrations combined if he let it all fly on him, and let him have it on his managerial issues, and RV sent him home
July 23, 20169 yr QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 05:49 PM) If true Sale just f***ed up their leverage in trade negotiations for him. This does not affect his trade value one iota.
July 23, 20169 yr Author Jeff Passan @JeffPassan 1m1 minute ago Sources: Chris Sale has not been traded, but White Sox are still talking with teams about him after scratching his start following incident. https://twitter.com/JeffPassan
July 23, 20169 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 05:54 PM) This is gonna get ugly if I'm interpreting Rabbit's last tweet properly Link? or what's his twitter name?
July 23, 20169 yr Maybe they can spin it as a positive. He's so fiery that he loses his s*** when someone tells him he can't compete.
July 23, 20169 yr QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 05:56 PM) This entire franchise top to bottom is embarrassing. I've been so indifferent for a while, this is getting close to funny bad.
July 23, 20169 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 03:54 PM) This is gonna get ugly if I'm interpreting Rabbit's last tweet properly Huh? I don't see what you're reading into with his tweet.

July 23, 20169 yr QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 05:59 PM) Jim Bowden said this does not effect his trade value at all Of course it doesn't. Still one of the best pitchers with the best contracts in all of baseball.
July 23, 20169 yr Sale will never be a consistently great pitcher unless he learns how to control his emotions. It was pretty clear this year that once you got Sale out of his comfort zone, he'd get angry, overthrow, and get himself into trouble. His personality off the field reflects that too I guess.
July 23, 20169 yr Author If he got into it with Kenny/Hahn or one of the other execs he has to go. Not maybe. He needs to leave.
July 23, 20169 yr Sox are a complete joke the last 2 months can iT get any worse People going to game expecting Sale are going to be so pissed they may not return again. Edited July 23, 20169 yr by Soxfest
July 23, 20169 yr QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 07:00 PM) No. Just the White Sox, who forever run their organization like its 1975 I mean in that they listen to trade speculation
July 23, 20169 yr QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:01 PM) If he got into it with Kenny/Hahn or one of the other execs he has to go. Not maybe. He needs to leave. It might motivate the FO to get it done. But they aren't taking a lesser offer.
July 23, 20169 yr QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 05:57 PM) This does not affect his trade value one iota. Um, it might be when you're talking about giving up five top prospects for a guy. A little concerning if the guy has clubhouse issues. Not saying Chris does, but there is nothing positive about this.
July 23, 20169 yr Author QUOTE (daggins @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:03 PM) It might motivate the FO to get it done. But they aren't taking a lesser offer. Nor should they. But maybe it allows them to pick up the phone a little quicker.
July 23, 20169 yr Even if he never gets moved, as soon as that contract is up hes gone.. Maybe this will expedite his departure
July 23, 20169 yr QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 06:03 PM) Um, it might be when you're talking about giving up five top prospects for a guy. A little concerning if the guy has clubhouse issues. Not saying Chris does, but there is nothing positive about this. The dudes a hot head. that's been known well before this. He was probably scratched and went all redneck when he was told. It's not a big deal.
July 23, 20169 yr I'd totally be willing to trade him to Boston for a package centered around Moncada.
