Getting the feeling that nothing is all that close to being finalized.

 

We haven't heard anything about talks advancing. I still have a feeling Houston finds a way to get a deal done. Maybe martes/tucker/reed/perez

Yankees get: McCutchen

 

Pirates get: Q and Nate Jones

 

White Sox get: Tyler Glasnow, Josh Bell, Jorge Mateo, Ke'Bryan Hayes, Chance Adams, and Dustin Fowler

 

Ehh?? Pirates improve their pitching all around at a very reasonable cost controlled price without completely gutting their system while also shedding Cutch's salary. Pirates shuffle the Mateo, Adams, and Fowler package they get from the Yankees for Cutch over to us to supplement keeping most of their own prospects. Yankees make a splash move that makes them a lot better without giving up any of their main pieces in the minors. And the White Sox get a haul.

To be fair, I've been holiday shopping with family and have all of mine done.

Honestly it felt a little too good to be true.

There's no way I'm dealing Q and Jones for that package, Jones is very valuable on his own. I think I like Frazier least out of all the proposed headliners I've seen. Hasn't graded very well defensively and hit just .228/.278/.396 in AAA, albeit at a young age.

I'm hoping raBBit's leak didn't screw up the deal in any way. Sometimes its best to not saying anything till they say. Similar to bucket not saying anything about the Shark deal until it was close to finalized.

To be fair, none of this seemed to make any sense at all for the Yankees. Even if they're competing next year, it's unlikely they'd trade prospects for a rental. I think that maybe all this stuff today was to put some heat on another team to up the ante, ala the Nationals leaks during the Winter Meetings.

And don't the "leakers" like rabbit and WSD need authorization to actually leak the info? Otherwise I'd bet the sources would stop giving them information. This was definitely a controlled leak, for some reason or another.

If it was a controlled leak to entice another club (astros) then why involve the yankees at all. Throw something believable at them. Yankees involvement makes no sense at all.

Maybe. I've been on Soxtalk long enough to see alot of deals and rumors/leaks either good and goes through or get shot down or damaged one way or another.
