The #WhiteSox have claimed infielder D.J. Peterson off waivers from the Seattle Mariners and optioned him to Class AAA Charlotte.

Former Top 50 prospect. I like it.

Get as many Petersons, Lirianos, Garcias, Hansens, etc. that you can and see if they can reach any of their potential here.

Love Hahn's acclimation of buy low potential for pennies.

And if you get one Anthony Swarzak out of the bunch, you win.

Asked about pitching prospects being called up, Hahn said "Maybe buy tickets for Friday night."

Rumors have been floated that Lopez would get called up for Friday's game. Well tonight he has struck out 9 in five innings but allowed three homers

A little bit of useless info...

These are the type of low risk moves a rebuilding club should be making. Hopefully we can unearth some decent value from guys like Lirano, Tilsen, Cordell, Peterson, Delmonico, etc.

He also followed it up by saying "talk to me on Tuesday". Today is that Tuesday. Hoping to hear something today regarding Lopez.

8/8/1976 White Sox wear shorts in doubleheader against the Royals. Sox won the 1st game wearing the shorts, lost the 2nd game with long pants. http://news.sportslogos.net/2016/08/08/a-s...ite-sox-shorts/

Pretty fun article especially the razzing the Sox took from John Mayberry the Royals 1st baseman and funny quote from White Sox player Jack Brohamer " saying he wouldn't wear the shorts unless he could also wear a halter top.

Also a Rolling Stone piece on the shorts . Offers pretty much same info as the 1st article I listed but it's from a few years before that one.

Some well known Sox names from that team include, Ralph Garr, Bucky Gent, Goose Gossage, Terry Forster, Wilbur Wood and Chet Lemon.

...and approximately 4 hrs later it's announced Lopez is, indeed, called up.

90 minutes unless it is a sell out game or something with a big pre-game ceremony before hand.

Thanks! :D Likely heading to a game soon.

He still thinks they retired it for him.

Anyone know the list of guys out of options next year?

I know Ken Berry wore 16 but that was ages ago. He couldn't have been the last.

Thank you very much. I always wore 16 on jerseys because of Ken Berry . Wouldn't have guessed it was Kenny Williams .

KW was kind of the same type of prospect as Tim Anderson. Very athletic, football instead of basketball background. Hit pretty decently when he came up as a CF. The Sox tried to make him a 3B, and it all went south, the bat, the glove. Hopefully, Anderson has a better fate playing-wise. It does appear he is coming out of his fog.
