August 8, 20178 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 06:44 PM) Jimenez is a monster I guess it doesn't really matter since the season will be over soon, but I can't wait to see him mashing in AA.
August 9, 20178 yr QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 07:37 PM) Seby Zevala man His numbers have actually gotten better with his promotion. Unreal.
August 9, 20178 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 07:41 PM) His numbers have actually gotten better with his promotion. Unreal. Really think he should be in AA by now
August 9, 20178 yr Jimenez has been ridiculous and Zavala not too much less. I think Collins has benefited from the additions of Jimenez and Zavala as well. Definitely think all three should be in Birmingham to start the '18 season.

With a good performance he could be #1 overall IMO.
August 9, 20178 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 07:41 PM) His numbers have actually gotten better with his promotion. Unreal. That does happen with certain prospects from time to time. Usually it's from high A to AA though. Edited August 9, 20178 yr by SoxAce
August 9, 20178 yr QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 08:07 PM) I hope they send Jimenez to the AFL. With a good performance he could be #1 overall IMO. I don't see any reason why they would keep him out of Arizona.
August 9, 20178 yr QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 09:13 PM) I don't see any reason why they would keep him out of Arizona. This kid is unreal. Hahn had a quote on him today: https://twitter.com/JRFegan/status/895069244957663232 Edited August 9, 20178 yr by chitownsportsfan
August 9, 20178 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 06:41 PM) His numbers have actually gotten better with his promotion. Unreal. Prospect # 27 per Future Sox. Should be higher.
August 9, 20178 yr QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 08:14 PM) This kid is unreal. Hahn had a quote on him today: https://twitter.com/JRFegan/status/895069244957663232 I haven't seen him defensively, so I don't know how well he'd play overall, but I really think he'd be just fine in the majors right now. Almost think of how Miguel Cabrera impacted that 2003 season and that's what I think Eloy would do in the majors right now. Obviously calling him up would be very, very dumb for so many reasons, but he's a monster.
August 9, 20178 yr A potential 70/70 hit and power tool, there is a lot to be excited about Jimenez. I don't want to jinx it but I think he may be our safest prospect in the system.
August 9, 20178 yr Like to see Rutherford start to hit with more authority. ISO actually has gone down since the trade
August 9, 20178 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 8, 2017 -> 08:59 PM) Like to see Rutherford start to hit with more authority. ISO actually has gone down since the trade He's a GB machine at this point. It's tough to hit for power with a 52% GB rate.

I don't want to jinx it but I think he may be our safest prospect in the system. I'm not sure Jimenez has a potential 70 hit tool. Power? Absolutely, but most scouts seem to think Jimenez will be an above average hitter in the 55/60 grade realm. 70 hit and 70 power = unreal I could see Jimenez being a similar player to Giancarlo Stanton at ceiling, which is a very good player.

Nelson Cruz/Stanton are probably the best comps out there...
August 9, 20178 yr QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 9, 2017 -> 08:18 AM) Nelson Cruz/Stanton are probably the best comps out there... The power came later in the career of Cruz, as he didn't start really hitting home runs until age 28. I think Jimenez has the potential to be a 30+ home run threat in the next 2-3 season at the mlb level if he continues to improve like he has. The scary thing is that I don't think he would embarrass himself if he were thrown into the MLB right now. As long as he stays healthy we are looking at a middle of the order bat.
August 9, 20178 yr Plus Cruz has always had PEDs allegations hanging over his head...maybe we should go with Aaron Judge instead, haha. Some pretty big humans.
