Matthews keeps calling him, "this guy." It's funny how cocky some people are. Their candidate didn't win so they don't even recognize the winner as President. When Obama won, nobody referred to him as "this guy." If you are an American you have to admit he's your president at least. We voted him in. So he's the USA president. U live in the USA so he's your president.

Trump may be a chump but a lot of smart people are claiming the economy is thriving under DT.

If we can get him impeached, fine, go for it. But if not he's still the US president until a scandal arrives that dictates he be removed. Just cause u lost doesn't mean u have to call him "this guy."

You are right greg. People didn't refer to Obama as "this guy". If they had, it would have been a compliment. They called him much, much worse.

Greg,

Every day in office for 8 years, Obama was disrespected by republicans, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh...all of the places you go for a few minutes to see what's up. Did you miss it? He's out of office now, but they still give him crap. Maybe not every day anymore. Trump has blatantly lied more than any other president. Why is it bad to call him out on it? Why do they still give Obama crap for saying "if you like your plan, you can keep your plan". Why is that OK, and Trump's big beautiful wall will only cost $8 billion because that is what he does, and oh by the way, Mexico is going to pay for the wall, and now he needs $25 billion for said wall, which he now admits wouldn't be nearly as long or bold as it was when it was $8 billion, since he went on an expedition and discovered there are places on the border a wall could not be built?

FBI Director Opposes Memo Release Because of Inaccuracies, Source Says

FBI Director Christopher Wray told the White House he opposes the release of a controversial, classified GOP memo alleging bias at the FBI and Justice Department because it contains inaccurate information and paints a false narrative, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Devin Nunes Won’t Say If He Worked With White House on Anti-FBI Memo

During Monday’s contentious closed-door committee meeting, Rep. Mike Quigley, a Democrat, asked Nunes point-blank if his staffers had been talking with the White House as they compiled a four-page memo alleging FBI and Justice Department abuses over surveillance of President Trump’s allies in the Russia probe.

According to sources familiar with the exchange, Nunes made a few comments that didn’t answer the question before finally responding, “I’m not answering.”

Republicans are voting along party lines to release this memo against the wishes of the DOJ and FBI because it will provide some almost definitely dishonest cover for criticizing the Mueller investigation and Trump's continued politicization of the DOJ and law enforcement. They're also blocking a response memo prepared by the Democrats details all of the false and misleading statements in Nunes' memo. GOP leadership is fully behind tarring and feathering the FBI and career civil servants to give Trump cover.

Pretty standard Republican speech from Trump last night. North Korea and Iran are evil, Iraq and Afghanistan wars are going great, pull yourself up by your boot straps economics and Cuba is still evil.

I guess the one part that was really different was Trump going straight fascist on immigration. Pretty much calling all immigrants, MS-13 gang members that will come and murder you.

Likes to talk about that, but didn't mention Heather Heyer or any of other people who were killed by white nationalists who backed him.

Just about the whole GOP has shifted to backing Trump's views on immigration at this point, too, readily adopting the preferred white nationalists' terms like "chain migration" and arguing for drastically reducing legal immigration. Zero pushback on deporting hundreds of thousands with TPS for no reason. The nativist wing of the party is now fully in control.

How many people have MS-13 actually killed here?

They are getting to be a pretty dangerous gang and some of their murders have been more grotesque, but they haven't caused any more trouble than the numerous gangs scattered throughout Chicago.

Pretty soon the only immigrants allowed will be those willing to work for minimum wage at Trump properties, or help Jared pay down some of his debt on his genius building purchase in NYC. Apparently the tax cuts haven't spurred Donny to increase wages.

Don’t believe the Trump administration: MS-13 is not ravaging the United States

For all the hype in the governor’s race, MS-13 has been associated with three murders in Virginia this year, and two of the victims were MS-13 members themselves. To put that into perspective, there were 480 homicides in Virginia in 2016, and nine Virginians died in traffic accidents over Fourth of July weekend alone.

This article from last year summons it up pretty well. MS-13 is a serious problem in Central America.

A train carrying GOP lawmakers to a retreat in West Virginia has collided with a garbage truck.

The writers have no sense of subtlety this season.

(truck driver was injured, everyone on train was okay)

e: one fatality confirmed so now I feel bad about making a joke

Trey Gowdy just announced he is stepping away from politics.

Rs jumping ship before an anticipated 2018 Dem wave?

You have to imagine he has been privy to a lot of things that put him in awkward spots with his party. probably better to walk away than it is to stand up to it

Cashing out (the actual words that several GOPers last December when talking about rushing through their tax cut plan) before a blue wave, maybe secretly sick of having to put on a good face about Trump and will make more than enough money in the private sector to not have to put up with that bulls***. A lot of these retirements are coming from seats that either looked particularly vulnerable to a Dem wave or are in blood red districts.

NPr had a little segment a couple of weeks ago:

I think it's time I block greg, his posts absolutely make my blood boil.

There’s no escaping greg. Even if you block him, you’ll see all the responses to his outlandish posts. The best you can do is hope it’s all an act and try to look the other way.

Chain migration, not my words, doesn’t allow cousins, for example.

I would love to see a Republican explain why featuring a North Korean rescued by “chain migration” or even a refugee is suddenly a good thing...? Does Trump expect South Korea or China to rescue all those in similar situations? Why should they (trust to) look to us for help, if America only wants to use them for PR purposes and then quickly discard them?

So immigrants are okay if they’re not white, as long as they’re smart/diligent Asians oppressed by Rocket Man?

What about Egyptians, Filipinos, Russians, Turkish or Chinese repressed in the same way...especially members of the media fighting a losing battle for free speech in all those places and being disappeared or murdered everyday?

You would think Russia, China and Europe didn’t exist from listening to that speech. Or the environment.

Exclusive: Trump asked Rosenstein if he was 'on my team'

Washington (CNN)Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein visited the White House in December seeking President Donald Trump's help. The top Justice Department official in the Russia investigation wanted Trump's support in fighting off document demands from House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes.

But the President had other priorities ahead of a key appearance by Rosenstein on the Hill, according to sources familiar with the meeting. Trump wanted to know where the special counsel's Russia investigation was heading. And he wanted to know whether Rosenstein was "on my team."

The episode is the latest to come to light portraying a President whose inquiries sometimes cross a line that presidents traditionally have tried to avoid when dealing with the Justice Department, for which a measure of independence is key. The exchange could raise further questions about whether Trump was seeking to interfere in the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller, who is looking into potential collusion by the Trump campaign with Russia and obstruction of justice by the White House.

As a further sign of the President's focus on Rosenstein's testimony, one of the sources said Trump also had suggested questions to members of Congress that they could ask Rosenstein.

One line of inquiry Trump proposed lawmakers ask about was whether Rosenstein appointed Mueller as special counsel to investigate Russian meddling in the 2016 election because Mueller was not selected as FBI director. CNN has reported that Trump has been venting to his aides about Rosenstein in recent weeks and even raised the possibility of his removal. Sources say Trump believes Rosenstein was upset Mueller wasn't selected as FBI director and responded by making him special counsel. It does not appear those questions were asked of Rosenstein at the hearing.

Wow it's almost like all of these attacks on anyone investigating Trump are being done by proven liars in bad faith, who could have ever seen that coming??

I'm guessing these leaks are coming ahead of Nunes' memo, which the FBI all but called fabricated bulls*** and the DOJ called extremely reckless, being made public later this week in yet another attack to provide cover for Trump.
