This is one of my favorite sports photos ever, for so many reasons.

  • Lock him up. Call him up.

  • I’ll be interested to see him expound more on his belief and reliance upon God in the years to come.

We're ready too.

Hard not to get pumped waiting for his first game.  Seems like a great kid.

In the increasingly unlikely event that he's called up before mid-April of next year, I really don't think I'll care about the extra year. While I would disagree with the decision deep down, I also know I would just be way too excited to see him play to care.

“This is serious. I’m trying to be an All-Star. I want to make it to the Hall of Fame. And I’m fully prepared to put in the work that is required to make those dreams a reality.”

Seriously though #Pray4TheLeague

I'm not worried his his or Kopech's extra year of service time as I think we need to identify them as two of five core pieces we must break the bank for. We need to play that  loyalty angle AND show them the money. This org also needs to be prepared to pay a huge payroll when this time comes if need be. The 5 guys I would break the bank for are Rodon, Kopech, Eloy, Robert, and Moncada. I think Madgrical will be a great hitter but not enough power to warrant a huge payday.

Lock him up. Call him up.

"I've been waiting to play pro ball in Chicago since I was 11."

That extra year of service time shouldn't be a big deal if we play our cards right. We may want to call him up to avoid creating bad mojo and sending him to the Cubs after the 7th year.

I wouldn't have cared too much had they done it a month ago. Doing it now? Would be an indicator of a management team again flying by the seat of its pants and not executing based on a plan.

But also I just want to say that I love Eloy and am so pumped.

You know that feeling we had when thomas or magglio was up in a big situation and you knew the pitcher was more scared than we were of the pitcher? I miss that.

Seeing the reception for Kopech just makes me all of the more excited for Eloy.  I wonder what effect that night has had on upper management?

Great story.  So looking forward to this kid coming up

That's awesome. I was in front of the bullpen for Rodon's first appearance. He was all over the place and then proceeded to have a terrible inning. Very anti-climactic compared to Kopechs :)

Sign him to a deal now that locks him up through 2026 and bring him up.

The Sox are doing the right thing here.  Long term, 162 games in a potentially meaningful season is far more valuable (even if is an expensive season) than 40ish in a lost season.

This would be great.  But why would Eloy do that?  He seems like a confident dude.  Me thinks he'd rather bet on himself.

There is zero chance the Sox haven't floated long term deals with Eloy's team.  Zero.

That’s the point. See you April 15th, Eloy.

Okay, bring him. Fuck it. It seems like he wants to be in Chicago forever anyways

It's pretty badass to see all of these guys and see how highly everyone thinks of them.

I long for the day when GRF has an atmosphere like the Black Out game almost every night.
