Light hitting catcher who was ok defensively. No big loss, do wish him the best of luck though.

October 26, 20187 yr Not the most likely of scenarios, but there was discussion that Castillo is one of Machado's best friends, and could potentially help with recruitment of Manny. Maybe they will keep him around for this purpose.

He isn't that good and wasn't the future at the catching position anyway. Who cares. He's easy to root for and produced at the plate (despite lack of power)? And he was probably our better defender and framer of the group so that matters for the pitchers, even if he was unlikely to be on the team after next year.
