  • Are you seriously repeating what was said a few pages ago?

  • My source told me Thome showed him around. Then they went to White Castle, and  Harper said if Thome could down an entire crave case, he would sign with the Sox as long as each team employee took a bi

I'm probably wrong but if they're negotiating now I feel like that might be good if the Sox are still in? Could the Cubs/Dodgers negotiate that well if they couldn't promise anything without a few contingent trades?

Just pay the guy what he wants. It's not hard.

Why didn't you say so? Someone call Jerry. This guy's got $400 million he wants to give Bryce! Let's do this!

You tell us

If the cubs don't want Maddon anymore that can send him 8 miles south. I'll take Maddon over Ricky.

How about a trade. Renteria + $ for Maddon.

The Royals and Orioles. Not the Cubs

They could always move players later but that would hurt the value they get back. Granted, that would be the case prior to a trade I'm sure.

I think this is the reason the Sox are gonna sign stopgap players. They have to show they won't be a 100 loss team next year. No one wants to lose 100 games. If they can be just an 81 loss team who takes compete for the division, that is much better.

okay this would be in sox favor

"We have TO outbid the Cubs and Dodgers by a lot" or "We have" as in we already did? Your sentences are giving me a brain aneurysm.

Actually, that was one of his more cogent posts. It may not be what he intended, but it was good English. He clearly stated:

"WE have outbid the cubs and dodgers by alot"

Sox should have a good selling point here if Boras is real about this.

Well this is certainly interesting.

This seems like good news for us. Obviously, it won't be the main factor in his decision, but we've definitely got everyone else beat on quality talent in the minors...

oh great, he's going to pick the Padres cause they have Tatis Jr.

maddon would chose angels over us

So he didn't give him one for the Cubs.

Even I think that's good

That's interesting to hear. I would suspect that could only help the Sox. They would have the highest ranked farm out of all the teams going after him unless I'm mistaken.

It's just pictures of him and Bryant hanging out together

What’s the guy on Facebook saying?

I don't think it should be looked at like this. They have us beat on the field badly. The minors just show we can get there one day. Us beating other teams minors rosters means nothing, unless that team sucks at the mlb level like us.

He clearly isn't going to eliminate teams publicly even if there is little chance he signs with them. If it is reported JR will spend huge, even if Harper would take $50 million less, there is no way Boras, or any agent would publicly eliminate him. So really all Boras said is just noise.

Two encouraging notes.  That he wants a team to build around Harper and information about the minors has been shared with Harper.

Probably referring to the Sox with that "not competing in 2019, but beyond" comment since they are in on him and are not in a position to be good next year. Just out-bid everyone else and lock him up.
