I thought maybe he had whiplash from watching all the rockets zoom by him.

Might as well get his 4 starts in and TJ surgery started now than in September.

This is why batting Alonso cleanup day after day when he’s not batting his weight is idiotic. Not that I need to convince anyone reading this post of that obvious statement. There’s a reason the India

I get getting him a day off but do we really got to do it after he hit 2 home runs.

And we are off tomorrow.

Carrasco absolutely owns him. I’m totally fine with it.

Moncada was quoted recently (yesterday maybe?) as saying he was tired lately.  I am totally OK giving his legs a day.

Alonso still in the clean up spot though...that I can b**** about.

So we couldn't bump Timmy up to 2nd?

Yay for rest day

this way he gets 2 days off. he said in the post game that he was tired. he has played in every game.

Delmonico batting 2nd....

It seems like Ricky just picks names out of a hat to make the line ups sometimes. I wish we were a normal team with a set line up. The only consistent part of our line up is Abreu 3rd and Alonso 4th.

I'm cool giving him an extra day if he's feeling tired.  Just sucks that its the day after he busted out of his slump.

It also would be really nice if there were someone else on the roster to take DH ABs away from Corpse Alonso...

Maybe he busted out of his slump because he was re-energized knowing he had 2 days off?

Ricky is like Joe Maddon in this way. It drives me nuts.

This sucks, I made my mom and brother call off to come to the game with me today and Yo isn't playing.

Some of the beat writers were suggesting on Twitter that Ricky basically told Yoan that if he had a big day he'd get the next day off

Today will be the Rondon game.

Tomorrow is their only day off in the month. Sitting today (or Thursday) gets him 2 days off in a row.

I agree Moncada should be off today, but Delmonico in the two hole....ehhh...not so much.

Anderson should be bumped there on a day like today.

Man, gone are the days of playing all 162 games every year.

Does anyone know if anything has changed? More time in the weight room and practice during the season? More training in the off-season?

Not really something thast has changed in the last decade or so, but going back further than that, long term contracts is what has changed.  Guys used to play for 1 year deals, so they'd play through just about anything as their next season's paycheck depended on it.  Now a days teams are more cautious because they have guys locked up long term, players are more cautious because sitting out more often keeps them fresh, and unless an impending FA, shouldn't affect your pay down the line that much. etc., etc.,

Leury still day-to-day... until he goes on DL. Just bad luck, of course. I don't know about other organizations, but with Sox, it's always bad luck.

On MLB network today. So the morning show they were talking up the Sox and Giolito got interviewed.

It does suck when we can't put our best lineup out there when on national TV. Imagine this team if Kopech and Dunning don't get hurt. Perhaps both in the starting rotation .
