Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him

Well....still hoping for some news, but sounds doubtful.  Which means the offers probably were't there.

Tough to understand not just dumping Jay and Castillo - a little surprised no one was interested as pure insurance policies for injuries - but oh well.

  • my only philosophy on baseball (as a young person) is that old players like colome are useless (as are saves, since I am a statnik) and should be force retired. If that's not possible, flipping them i

  • I'd say put a silly value on him and if teams dont meet it just keep him.

Jay and Castillo are too expensive for that. I'd hope the Sox would just DFA both of them and give the ABs to other players.

Move along......nothing to see here..........?

Castillo Jay and Nova are head scratchers

Sox got to be finalizing something with the Phillies I feel like.

Once Colome entered the game last night, I thought it was very doubtful he was going anywhere. If there was anything that piqued their interest, they would have held him out. So expecting a new great offer today is a bit doubtful.

Fix a mistake and get Bryce?

"We uhhh were close to dealing Alex, but did not have an offer that was sufficient enough to take.  We plan to compete for uhhhh multiple championships with Alex on this 25-man roster."

Maybe this might get the Phillies to part with Medina.

Go all in. Offer to take David Robertson's full contract (DFA him when we find out if he needs TJ surgery or not) and deal Colome to them for a good package.

but the money will be spent

Reinsdorf probably demanded that the Sox not eat one cent of Colome’s contract for the remainder of the season to make a trade work out for both teams.

Still time remaining...I’m not giving up hope yet!

Right. He's owed about $2.5 mill. If you're not going to spend the mill in the international market, spend it on Colome to make a deal.
