I see no downside to this, even if it’s an overpay, provided it’s a three year deal. Longer than that and it better be frontloaded.

People on Twitter are saying the Sox overpaid, but I like it a lot. 3/54 is fair to me I think.

Seems like a very fair deal.. not too long a contract and the money isn’t bad either.

If they sign Castellanos, this team can win the division. Though it would be heavily dependent on Cease taking a big jump this year (which he very well might do).

If it’s true it’s 3/$55.5 with a vesting for a 4th, that’s a fair deal all around. 
 

If he turns out to be no good, he’ll be gone soon enough. If he is good, look out!

Very cool. Reason to watch for more than a couple of months next season. Should be in the race for a playoff spot into August/September. 

This beats the Price craziness.  

We give up nothing here and pay less than we would have had we made that crazy trade scenario.

Hahn finally put his money where his mouth was.  He missed out on Wheeler but made up for it.  This is a legit offseason that the big boy teams have.

"The money will be spent."   Very close for that silliness to be put to rest, right?  

Might have overpaid by $5-10M but who cares, everyone else had to overpay for pitching this offseason.
