That was depressing. This 3-4-5 is not very fun to watch.

Encarnacion is washed up

Cy Plesac a day after Cy Civale is just so fucking sad & pathetic.

How long do you give him before you give Collins a look?

Hitting can be contagious. Just takes one big inning. But so far, we look clueless.

so many years we hear "this offense will be explosive"

And it never is... makes me laugh,, because I know better than to ever believe it

Is that as close as we will get to Benetti calling someone an a-hole regarding Sutcliffe?

Or it's just that Cleveland has really good pitching.

60 games

At this point move the kids up. The vets, Grandal and Encarnacion aren't cutting it at 4 and 5. There have to be consequences. Move Eloy up to 4 and Robert to 5.

A lot more than five games.

And know how to pitch against our hitters

I haven't though that in a long time. This year I think it and it is.  They are getting guys on base, etc...not getting the big hits and playing tight, but it will come.  It will definitely come.

Not good at bats.  Fire hitting coach, again?

Well yeah, but if he sucks after 2-3 weeks?

Ha, yeah right

At least 3 weeks....with a veteran manager like Renteria who's eminently predictable in his playing time preferences.

Fwiw, if we need Collins to save us and Encarnacion's basically done, it's just one more scouting/evaluation error from our front office.   That said, he absolutely blasted that homer onto the concourse against Minny.   Timing is going to take a bit longer for older players, imo.

I’m not going to plan for some unlikely worst case scenario.  EE will be fine with time.

Damn leadoff walks. Team is playing too damn tight.

Yeah because of 4 innings. Good thought

Not a good start to this inning.

Sure, hitting coaches seem to be the only coaches who aren't afforded tenure with this team

Giolito making some bad pitches this inning. He desperately needs to find one more pitch to keep hitters off that change up.

They have 3 guys that can kill you and the Sox continue to let those guys terrorize them.

Here comes the set-up for the big inning with the heart of their order coming up now...terrible location with that pitch.   Engel did a good job limiting him to a single instead of 2nd/3rd, no outs.   Can at least get a double play ball here, possibly.   Not sure Delmonico manages to hold him there.
