August 1, 20205 yr Ugh. As happy as I am about Yermin coming up, losing Tim really hurts... Mendick and Leury at SS now /puke
August 1, 20205 yr I love having Mercedes to pinch hit late in games where you need one big hit to stay in it.
August 1, 20205 yr The one thing that matters this season is health. Not a good start for this squad. If it's worse than 10 days (multiple weeks) they really need to find a true replacement
August 1, 20205 yr I’m still trying to figure out how Tim hurt himself that badly last night. The play he got injured on didn’t even look that bad.

In all seriousness, between Anderson, Semien, Tatis, Jr. Carlos Sanchez, Eduardo Escobar and Tyler Saladino...not to mention Leury coming over from Texas for Alex Rios, we must have produced more SS fWAR than any MLB franchise the past 5-7 years.
August 1, 20205 yr Sucks to lose Tim, but I am happy that Yermin gets at least a cup of coffee in the big leagues. Dude earned it and more than paid his dues in the minors.
August 1, 20205 yr @Yearnin' for Yermin, think Mercedes can be our next shortstop perhaps and when Tim is back he moves to RF?
August 1, 20205 yr Glass half full outlook: Robert is great in the leadoff spot, which gets the whole offense going, and then Anderson moves down to 6 or 7 when he returns, where he is better suited.

This is a 10/10 Caulfield post.
August 1, 20205 yr August 2, 1990- Frank Thomas and Alex Fernandez called up. They were the 33rd and 34th members of the 1990 team. 2020- season is 9 days in and we’re at 35. Opening day rosters were 27 men in 1990, by the way, because of the lockout.

August 5, 20205 yr All these injuries has me wondering was the abbreviated spring, or should I say summer training camp long enough to get these guys in shape needed to compete?? Just wondering... Edited August 5, 20205 yr by The Grinder
