Didn't look like his momentum carried him into the netting. Looked like he went in on purpose and then decided to play a while.

This is one of those season changing moments. They can either rally around Eloy and get the comeback or this loss stings and they drop into a funk. Please come back. Please.

How many times must SoxTalk have this same conversation about Eloy Jimenez's defense?

If we can all so obviously see it, what is being DONE about it by the coaching staff?    He just had no sense of immediacy to get out of the net and retrieve the ball.  The thing that's most upsetting is not realizing the baseball situation there and that it was a live ball and not a ground rule double...expecting the umpire to signal Yelich to second base.

 

NOW Abreu can't figure out he needs to leave the freaking bag and then find it again with his foot.

We didn't make these kind of mistakes in PONY or COLT League.

Error on Abreu. 

Never used the bag to elevate or stretch to the ball, either.

Just two weeks ago he was a long man out of the bullpen now he is throwing 100 pitches in less than 5 innings.

 

I don’t care about the result of that play with Eloy. The truth is he’s going to suffer a horrible injury out there due to his clumsiness.  Left field is not a hard spot to find offense, so just make him a DH and save his bat.

Eloy just cost us 3 runs that inning. It is time to move him full time to DH, ENOUGH!

JUST ONCE.  To see if that might actually make a difference.

Not expecting 2013-2016 KC Royals, just improvement/effort/situational awareness.   That would be nice.

I don't think he knew that the ball is still in play if it hits the netting.
