I just checked on the mlb app, and Miami, Houston, Blue Jays, Minnesota and the Cubs all have advertising on the mound. The Cubs also have advertisements painted in the grass between the dugouts and 1st and 3rd baselines. Someone the Sox played earlier this season had a logo on the mound, too.

They're all advertisements that could be negatively construed quite easily if the team on the field disappointed?

That, I find incredibly difficult to imagine.

PERCEPTION IS 90% OF REALITY.   Why put yourself in a position to look like a jackass?   Remember TWTW, from Harrelson?  The souvenirs/t-shirts/merchandising around it?

Well, it last about all of 2 or 3 weeks when the team completely fell apart.

  • I had to log on just to say that that was one of the dumbest, most infuriating things I've ever seen a baseball team do, fire RR, k bye

RR taking a nice nap thinking about a delicious pie

  • I'll probably watch the first 3 innings. That will tell me what kind of mindset this team is in today. I'm done watching 9 inning games where they get 2-5 hits and 0-2 runs with their SP imploding in

Keuchel completely  shut down the Twins. Are you still arguing that Kyle Hendricks is bad and has been getting lucky for 6 years? ?

BOOM. If I could, I'd like this post 100 times.

Only  2 hits again

Offense is still non existent

This is ridiculous. We are getting absolutely nothing from the veterans.

The eye test and all of Edwin's statistical profile are looking like a guy who's washed right now.

Terrible at bats

Concerning Edwin can't even draw walks at this point. He's offering the Sox nothing. Exit velo way down, too many popups, this is brutal.

Yep, need to put him on the bench and get what you can out of McCann/Grandal DH combo

I’m fine with a pitchers dual. But we need a run

Still doesn't profile well in the playoffs. Like Buehrle he's either going to be great or get murdered in the postseason.

What does this even mean?

Abreu and Encarnacion look like they are done. At least one of those is a goner after this season

lol.

What I mean is that pitchers that rely on contact in the playoffs are hit or miss. They either pitch gems or get lit up like a Christmas tree. There is no in between.

Pitchers that miss bats are more steady in the playoffs.

Well, the arrow is pointing to the outfield for the Sox hitters, too. So, it could be positively construed.

Or, who gives a shit. It’s advertising.

Are you mentally there?

Well, except for that one bomb he put about 475 feet up onto the LF concourse...

Mazara is a ground ball machine. If he could ever get the ball in the air he kills it. Been the same story his whole career.

His ground-ball rate coming into today was the lowest on the team at 26.7%...

That's a 44.4% chance of seeing a hit in any individual inning.    Insightful stuff, surprised it didn't come from Our Chuck.

Your theory sucks. He's been a fine postseason pitcher in his career.

Tales from parkman‘s ass ?

This is the point now where you have to start watching Keuchel much more carefully...

So sick of Mazarra/Edwin. I was highly AGAINST those acquisitions as soon as they were announced. Hate to be right on it.

Abreu, I think we had universal distaste to his contract.

Sad

Said all along they should have gone after Castellanos!
