Isn't there anyone better than Delmonico in Schaumburg if they have to do this??  Bucket of balls?

Guess Dunning isn't staying in the rotation.

They have 2 off days next week so they sort of don't need a 5th starter for a while. Weird that it wouldn't go to a bullpen piece instead of bench spot though.

The only arms in Schamburg on the 40 man are Ruiz (just optioned, believe he needs to stay for 10 days), and Flores.  Then you got Bummer, Lambert, Lopez and Rodon all on the IL.   So Flores was really the only option without DFAing someone, but there are a few guys who would be easy DFAs, Delmonico being the primary.

Sox have multiple off days next week I believe. They won't need a 5th starter until the following week.

Also recalling another OF concerns me a tad about Robert.  We have 6 OF on the active roster now.  That is alot.

Agreed. If Robert is out for the Cubs series this is horrifying

Maybe he will be back in a week.

Has to stay down for 10 days. Sox don't need a 5th starter until the 30th (just checked).

That's right.

Today - Giolito

Cubs series: Kuechel, Cease, Gonzalez

Mon: Off day

Pirate Series: Giolito, Kuechel

Thur: Off day

Royals Series: Cease, Gonzalez.....and then recall Dunning for 8/30 game

Yep this has to be related to Robert

I'd rather have Delmonico on the team over Luis Gonzalez.

Can González play CF if needed?  And yes, I know what happened the other day.

He can....not sure how well.  But with Engel back, seems less important.  Ideally Engel plays RF against LHP so you can sit Mazara, but then if Engel needs to play CF because Robert needs to sit longer, neither Delmonico or Gonzalez are great options in RF against LHP.

Doesn't make a ton of sense really.  I'd have preferred throwing Micker out there in RF against the lefty today.  But realistically, we're quibbling about the 28th man that will likely be gone in a couple days, so not going to get too worked up.

This is more about Robert than Dunning.  This sucks.

Seems like he would have been put on the IL by now if it was serious

IIRC they did xrays on Robert. Should I assume that they also did an MRI? Because maybe they didn't, it's still sore and now they ran the MRI and see something's up with a ligament
