I have faith in Lopez. He clearly has a good slider. And if Jimenez would've tried to catch that he would've slammed into the brick wall. Glad he didn't go for it. Should've stayed back if anything and caught the caram.

Give Lopez a break. Only 2 runs...lets.hope it stays that way.

Problem is you don’t have time to give him a break, you give up a 4-5 spot with Hendricks on the mound you have lost the game.

The ball was a hair away of being launched into the stands.  Let's not act like we are watching a chess master 7 moves ahead.  He got lucky

Jason Bere was also quite capable of LABOURING for hours and hours...

Bere was nasty in 93 and 94

Cubs honestly don't look good against Lopez. If he can settle down and stop putting people on base with walks I think he'll be effective the rest of the game.

Man, I'd say Lopez is lucky. He has missed with a ton of fastballs drifting right over the middle of the zone. Sox would be killing him.

Yet, he probably has groupies.

Whatever he’s doing isn’t helping his pitching at all

nice comeback, but we have a rested pen.  USE IT

What has he done to deserve a break?

Does he have to do anything? He's a fkn human being and people are shitting on him.

He did get out of the inning having only giving up 2 runs...and he struck out Baez/Schwarber in the first...both looking

Absolutely. Reynaldo should never be in the same sentence... With Jason Bere.

Except he gave up 2...

This ump is ridiculous. What a piece of shit

WTF WITH THAT CALL

This ump is terrible

WTF ump that was in the LH batters box.

Would still be nice to have Lopez get the same plate as Hendricks

Inconsistent strike zones

Strike 1 on Abreu was 4" outside

With the potential for a lot more. The cubs are just not hitting it well at the moment but he’s left some cookies for them to swing at.

What did hawk call bere' changeup? Was it the foshball?

Dude he's given up 2. If Eloy catches that its most likely different. This board overreacting is a big lol

Dude, his peripherals were shit in 2018, his "good year". He was openly shit last year. He got wrecked in his first start this year. He has a seeming tendency to pitch while hurting rather than telling someone, like an adult. His pace is slow so he's excruciatingly boring to watch. This isn't a new thing. This isn't today. Reynaldo Lopez is a poor MLB pitcher.

Elevate it Eloy

Nice AB Jose

Good AT Bat jose

Jose took a walk?! Who kidnapped Abreu and what the hell did they do with him?

His arm is live enough that they should at least give him a year in the pen before bailing.

Fully agree
