October 12, 20205 yr And people said nothing was going to happen! I'm surprised but excited to see what happens next.
October 12, 20205 yr Author The wild thing? No one had this report ahead of the Sox press release. Chicago media just isn't very good.
October 12, 20205 yr My opinion of RR as a manager has come to fruition! RR is a nice guy but not the right manager to lead the team to championships. Edited October 12, 20205 yr by maloney.adam
October 12, 20205 yr There will be some celebrating, but what comes next is the question. Is it Super Joe? I would think the Sox aren't going to bring in a big name, but firing Ricky after making the playoffs I would have put at 10,000 to 1, so all bets are off. Edited October 12, 20205 yr by Dick Allen

Renteria seems like a nice enough guy...just in over his head as a major league manager on a team that is on the cusp of winning. Very surprised, but glad they are doing this now. Don't wait around and target guys you want. I am really interested on what their manager list looks like. Alomar? Would they consider Hinch? You have to interview some TB coaches I would assume.

October 12, 20205 yr Managed himself right out of a job. He made this a good place for the youngsters to grow up though.
October 12, 20205 yr Has anyone won manager of the year, and been canned in the same season? That's a real possiblity.
October 12, 20205 yr No opinion on this until they hire a new manager. No cheating scandal guys, please.
October 12, 20205 yr Holy shit.....they did it guys! Hopefully this is good news for spending in the offseason. Also Do NOT hire Hinch or Cora. Edited October 12, 20205 yr by Jack Parkman
October 12, 20205 yr Just now, Tony said: I'll be very surprised if it ISN'T a veteran. If you fire Ricky, that tells me you want a guy that has been there before. But please....no Ozzie. You are probably right. When have the Sox given their new manager much leeway with their coaching staff? Looks like now they will.

There's a lot of overpay in MLB, I think it's normal to feel bad for a good person who sucks at their job. I even felt bad for Boylen, he sucked but it's not because he wanted to be bad.
