Fangraphs projected Arrieta at $9M and a 2021 fWAR of 0.9.

Rich Hill (Projected 1.0 fWAR and $8M) signed by Tampa in a steal at $2.5M.

Rather win in October than "win" in December.

It could be worse. You could be a White Sox fan watching a team in the beginning stages of completely squandering a window because ownership is too chicken shit to take a risk to win a championship. A

You're right. Adding Darvish and Snell doesn't move the needle much.

Not long now...MLB sent notice of my TV subscription yesterday to be effective Feb. 28.2021.  A sure sign that Spring is just around the corner.

Never liked the guy. Gives me the creeps for some reason. There might be some unethical behavior on his shadow resume. He belongs on the Cub. Sorry Jakester.

My comment was more related to Rich Hill at $2.5M. Send him through the lineup twice, hand things over to Crochet for his 2-3 innings of work for a nice contrast, could be the best "fifth starter" combo in MLB. Would also be an asset with the younger pitchers. Much rather have Hill & Dunning than paying top dollar for a year of Lynn. If only Hill had a TLDR connection. Sighs.

If not signing Rich Hill is making you lose sleep, then you got problems.

This may have already been discussed, but anyone interested in Mitch Moreland on a one-year deal? A much needed left handed bat...veteran... still has some pop (.894 OPS last year). Could probably get him cheap.  DH against right handers, at least until Vaughn is fully ready...some power off the bench. Anyone?

If the decision has been made that Vaughn is the man, then I don't want to see a handcuff on him, taking away ABs

No one is discussing anyone atm because I'm pretty sure most of us believe there will be no more signings unless you can get them on a minor league deal.

Child, please. The Sox external free agent acquisitions have been garbage throughout Hahn’s entire tenure. Overpriced and underperforming, with his fanbois continuously posting how much they feel sorry for him.

Smart teams with competent front offices like Tampa own the Sox with half the payroll. They’re not wasting money two managers, overpaying for clubhouse cancers, signing lengthy contracts for declining players no other team would even consider. They’re signing quality players at good rates with plenty of upside.

Child, listen to yourself.   You're the one bitching and whining about the lack of the desire the Sox had in chasing washed up pitchers like Arrieta and Rich Hill.     How would this be any different than the sorry ass work Hahn has done in the past of getting over the hill scrubs like Gio Gonzalez, Matt Latos, Derek Holland, Ervin Santana?

Wasn't that about what the Sox supposedly had left to spend? LOL.

What a joke of a punishment. They don't even lose a pick, they just get the 40th pick instead of the 30th pick? Lol

But we were told that the owners suffered biblical losses! Don't you care about them and their biblical losses Chili¿?¿?¿

They should bring back Taijuan Walker too.

Yeah and to think this was apparently out of range for the Sox to take a gamble on is ridiculous. Paxton as your #4 at that cost would've been absolutely worth the risk IMO.

What kind of fair contest allows a team to spend 5 times the amount of some of its competitors.  Firm floor and ceiling limits need to be set asap.

I am getting more and more in favor of a salary cap but it will never happen
