Rich Hill (Projected 1.0 fWAR and $8M) signed by Tampa in a steal at $2.5M. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/02/rays-rich-hill-progressing-toward-deal.html Rather win in October than "win" in December.
February 13, 20215 yr Not long now...MLB sent notice of my TV subscription yesterday to be effective Feb. 28.2021. A sure sign that Spring is just around the corner.

Never liked the guy. Gives me the creeps for some reason. There might be some unethical behavior on his shadow resume. He belongs on the Cub. Sorry Jakester.

Sorry Jakester. My comment was more related to Rich Hill at $2.5M. Send him through the lineup twice, hand things over to Crochet for his 2-3 innings of work for a nice contrast, could be the best "fifth starter" combo in MLB. Would also be an asset with the younger pitchers. Much rather have Hill & Dunning than paying top dollar for a year of Lynn. If only Hill had a TLDR connection. Sighs.

If not signing Rich Hill is making you lose sleep, then you got problems.
February 13, 20215 yr This may have already been discussed, but anyone interested in Mitch Moreland on a one-year deal? A much needed left handed bat...veteran... still has some pop (.894 OPS last year). Could probably get him cheap. DH against right handers, at least until Vaughn is fully ready...some power off the bench. Anyone?

If the decision has been made that Vaughn is the man, then I don't want to see a handcuff on him, taking away ABs

No one is discussing anyone atm because I'm pretty sure most of us believe there will be no more signings unless you can get them on a minor league deal.

The Sox external free agent acquisitions have been garbage throughout Hahn’s entire tenure. Overpriced and underperforming, with his fanbois continuously posting how much they feel sorry for him. Smart teams with competent front offices like Tampa own the Sox with half the payroll. They’re not wasting money two managers, overpaying for clubhouse cancers, signing lengthy contracts for declining players no other team would even consider. They’re signing quality players at good rates with plenty of upside.

You're the one bitching and whining about the lack of the desire the Sox had in chasing washed up pitchers like Arrieta and Rich Hill. How would this be any different than the sorry ass work Hahn has done in the past of getting over the hill scrubs like Gio Gonzalez, Matt Latos, Derek Holland, Ervin Santana?
