It was good overall, I actually came away a bit more positive on him (and I'm firmly in the "pissed at this hire" camp). They asked him all the usual stuff ie how he will handle bat flips etc. He

That’s immensely disappointing but not surprising at all.  The fact La Russa is preventing us from getting a young & upcoming pitching coach really sucks.  Fuck Reinsdorf.

  • Why would any Sox fan want to waste a year of contention having the team have a mutiny during the season?  Honestly it seems some people on here are going to root for the Sox to lose this year just to

Very good. We have a coaching staff.  A couple of these guys sound intriguing and good. But honestly, I have no idea. And I lean on those with the knowledge who do know. Is the staff good? It sounds like it. Now we can concentrate on the team.

The vagueness seems very intentional here, but I'd like to guess he's referring to the old staff.

That’s what I was thinking. McEwing is his mentor and Cairo is supposed to be a great infield coach.  Outside of Tony, Timmy should be excited.

I mean my hope is that I am 100% wrong and that Drunken Tony really was the best choice for the team.  But I would put the odds of that around the same chances as us signing both Springer and Bauer.

Even that is too far fetched for me.  Best I can do is hope for success despite him.  Winning it all won't change my view that TLR was the wrong choice.

Based on him saying "Was not" vs "Am not" I assume he is speaking of the old staff.

I almost can read between the lines to see that he didn't like the initial staff proposal and they made some changes to make it better.

Solid staff either way. Keeping the continuity is important especially if the players are close to the coaches.

I like that theory

Seeing as it was not even a role previously he can do no worse.

You can absolutely be worse than nothing.

Once again, “apart” and “ a part” are two different things. Welcome to the Sox!

Great, so Shelley Duncan is basically our Hunter Biden?

Nah, more like Ivanka Trump, seeing as how Hunter isn't, ya know, actually working for his dad, where as "Individual One" actually has children working for him.

I’m sure that you ask a lot of questions. ?

Duncan doesn't appear to have any experience relative to analytics. Seems highly questionable. I guess we won't have to worry about manager and analytics butting heads. The rest seems good though.
