The Blake Snell Thread

We are in non tender/ tender season as well as free agent signing period. Why on earth would the white Sox trade anybody when they just sign  good to great players and not lose any of their own players?

  • Andrew Vaughn and Michael Kopech are two of the top 25 prospects in baseball. There's no chance in hell that the Rays land both of them for Snell. The dude threw 100 innings in 2019 and 50 in 2020. I

  • Kopech and Vaughn are top 25 prospects in the sport. Vaughn will be a top 10 prospect at some publications and he plays 1B. The White Sox shouldn't be trading guys like that. Spend some of the cheapsk

I wouldn't trade Kopech for Snell straight up.   We'd be regretting this trade big time in less than a year.

Because Jerry Reinsdorf

I'd offer Keuchel plus ReyLo and Collins.

2/10, troll better

I'd throw in Vermin too.

Warning - This is likely bullshit but for the sake of conversation:

Rays will steal Bailey from us ?

Trading for Blake Snell would be such a great move. There is not a player I’d rather see the Sox acquire

What are we thinking it would take? If Vaughn isn’t involved it would have to be Kopech as the headliner, right?

Kopech seems like someone the Rays will unlock immediately

Yeah. Snell is one of the few pitchers I'm ok trading Kopech for.

Kopech would have to be the top guy going back imo and the Sox have to hold on to Crochet and Vaughn here.

That's fine...the Sox need innings and Snell has 3 years on the deal. You're trading 3 years on the back end for 3 years now.

Trade Vaughn for Snell, sign Joc and Nelson Cruz....would be something I could see an “all in” team considering

I don’t think there’s much to unlock. They’d just walk through the open door into the room full of treasure

What do you guys think about Kopech, Stiever, and Dalquist for Snell?  Would you guys make that trade? Would the Rays?

What a dream that would be.

Yeah, that's about where I'm at. I'd throw in Burger or Sheets if it took that. He's blocked to hell and it's not like the Sox have any room for him anyway.

I would do it all day every day. I think the Sox would have to throw some teenagers we never heard of in.

I have to imagine the Rays want offense. I know Franco is coming, but they also have mclanahan, baz, and in theory McKay but I don't know what the shoulder injury will do to him.

They really, really need a catcher. There are not many fits there. Clearly the yanks were terrified of Sanchez ending up in tampa.

Who knows. Whomever the rays want you can be sure is probably going to be pretty good.

I'm Kopech's biggest fan and I'd drive him to the airport to make this deal.  Most likely light for the Rays though.

Blake Snell is not Chris Sale. He's very good and has the Cy Young that Sale doesn't, but he's nowhere near as consistently great each season as Sale was. Therefore, he should not cost as much as Sale.

Sale would've won the Cy Young in 2018 if he didn't get hurt.

That deal mentioned isn't even close to the deal for Chris.
