Really just want Hahn to say "we don't believe in handing out starting jobs in the offseason, but there can be exceptions. Payton actually played QB in at least one game for the Bears. He wasn’t the starter, and it was basically a wildcat, but he was the QB.

 

 

 

I'm fine with Collins as backup catcher. Why not? We can't have the two best catchers in the AL every year. We should probably sign an AAAA 3rd catcher though.

Lynn will be our number 2 and Eaton can rebound and be decent. I wanted Bauer or Springer and it is clear we aren't getting them. Eaton is decent as a RF option like all of the other non Springer guys. There are still more moves to be made and we hoped for more, but with a few more moves we can be an AL force.

If you told me before this all went down...you will get
A. Springer and a cheap Starter (project or Gio type)
B. Bauer and almost nothing other than a really cheap RF, or
C. Lynn, Eaton, Hendricks and potentially Brantley for DH...

I think it starts to look like a better plan. I dislike the Eaton deal because I think he could have been had cheaper, but 4 players compared to 2 could work and fills in the holes
