    Assistant to the General Manager

  • I'm not sure is so controversial about Crochet in bullpen? You have to stretch him out and you have to stretch Kopech out. Both should be either in multi inning roles or working as openers pitching 2-

Chris Sale started in the pen...this move is fine, and Whitesox-esque.

Also of note, it looks like a woman is Senior Director of Minor League Operations in Grace Guerrero Zwit.

I wonder what this means for Jeremy Haber, wasn't he the assistant GM before?

Didn't think I'd be seeing Donnie Veal's name today, but here we are.

The money is getting spent folks.

A few former Sox organization members in that list.

He's Mr. Manager now.

Assistant Director, Player Development: Kenny Williams Jr.

As someone who was very critical of our PD, and still think it moved too slow, I think Getz has done a really great job and deserves praise

The Athletic had a 2 part piece where they were asking agents all kinds of questions about front offices, like who is the toughest to negotiate with, who is the nicest, Hahn didn't rank in anything, but Getz got a couple of votes as a future GM.

They did ask the Tony LaRussa hire question, and it was split down the middle with about half thinking it was good and half not so good, and it ranged from genius hire to total disaster.

We know the plan for Crochet now.

They are going to wear out his arm aren’t they?

I feel like our front office might need a lesson on the value of relief pitching.

They have PTSD from game 3

If it's one thing the Sox are good at, it's knowing how to handle their pitchers. I'm not worried about this.

You may as well trade Crochet for Burnes if they aren''t going to stretch him out.  NO WAY using him in a multi inning relief role will allow him to start in 2022. No way. how stupid.  I'm livid. and Im not shocked. Okay, off my soap box I go.

Maybe he will face a lineup once thru every 4th or 5th day... usually paired with Cease.  50 pitches.  Maybe they think he gets through the entire season that way?

Otherwise you are correct.  This is stupid.  You can't take a guy with the 11th pick and then use him as a traditional reliever for 2 years.

If they expect Cease to be that bad then they should have done something more about rotation depth.

He should be the opener, no doubt.

That won't get him to where he needs to be though for next year and future years starting.  Needs to get to 80-100 pitches. Cant do that in the bullpen.
