I’m thinking the NL East is the most likely, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it just stays the same 10. The Blue Jays or Yankees might challenge Oakland for that final Wild Card, but I still think Oakland gets it. I don't see the NL changing other than which team wins the NL West and which two are Wild Cards.
July 18, 20214 yr Well, the Nationals Padres game tonight was ended after gunshots erupted in the LF parking lot. Apparently everyone needs to plan for what they would do if faced with this moment if they're buying baseball tickets now. Game will resume at 1:05 tomorrow. Apparently gunshots are now treated as a rain suspension.
July 18, 20214 yr This is why fans should never "throw it back", or throw anything else onto the field. https://www.bostonglobe.com/2021/07/17/sports/fan-hits-alex-verdugo-with-baseball-crazy-scene-yankee-stadium-game-rain-delay/ Quote NEW YORK — Red Sox left fielder Alex Verdugo was hit by a baseball thrown by a fan at Yankee Stadium, leading to a heated exchange between the outfielder and spectators as well as a halt to play prior to the bottom of the sixth inning of a 3-1 Yankees win....... “There’s no reason to be throwing stuff back onto the field ever. There really isn’t,” Verdugo said. “Yeah, I lost my cool there for a second. I was pretty [angry]. But having some time to think about it now, to calm down and relax, it is what it is. I’m just happy that nothing came from it, nobody got hurt, I didn’t get hit in the face or anything like that, or the back of the head.”
July 18, 20214 yr Love seeing Joey Cora in the middle of this, wish he was still here. Can see Rojas getting a very lengthy suspension after slamming into two umpires. https://www.mlb.com/news/pirates-score-3-runs-on-mets-mistake

July 23, 20214 yr What’s something is the Yankees reliever throwing 4 wild pitches in ten pitches in the bottom of the inning

Your idea to have a gunfire gameplan simply isn't enough. I advise nobody to ever go to sporting events anymore. It's too risky. Edited July 23, 20214 yr by ron883

He must also have tornado and earthquake gameplans when he goes to the ballpark. Agoraphobe confirmed.
July 23, 20214 yr How about Dodgers' Kenley Jansen? Two blown saves in a row to Giants at home. Can you imagine if he did that for White Sox.

I would be incredibly disappointed if the stadium itself did not have appropriate emergency procedures for the issuance of a tornado warning covering the stadium. For an Earthquake? Depends on where I'm sitting. If nothing is overhanging me, drop cover and hold on, probably beneath my seat. If I'm in an upper deck area, same deal. If I'm beneath the upper deck at Wrigley, pray. Leave the facility in an orderly fashion afterwards, which should follow any standard evacuation plan that a ballpark should have. When Machado is escorting people into the dugout for safety and there are people running with no idea of what to do...that's a situation where the ballpark doesn't have a worked out emergency plan yet, or alternatively gunfire in a certain spot is a major incident that they can't plan to manage the crowd for. And considering that just 3 weeks ago guys were arrested with a cache of guns across the street from the All Star Game, well...

It's extremely tragic, but it can happen literally anywhere. The odds of it happening are incredibly minute. If you're worried about making a "plan" for this, then you must have a similar plan for literally every single time you leave your house. It can happen everywhere.
