I hope Lucas didn’t go in thinking ok that’s it at the end of last inning.

Just a reminder we could have had AJ Hinch but Reinsdorf hasn't died yet.

Time for Hahn to go all "moneyball" and just DFA Nick Williams and Jake Lamb.  "Sorry, Tony, you can't start those guys tonight....they're no longer on the team"

  • More convinced than ever that Kenny is his dad.

No reason to bring him out for this early of a regular season game.

Yep

He brought him out to get a standing ovation didn’t he.

Leadoff walk.

His command was going last inning

Wouldn't have guessed it, thanks Tony

Sigh.

Once again LaRussa spots Marshall a base runner.

get him TF out

Just such a dumb decision by Tony.  Can we just let Stoney manage this team.

Why would Giolito start the 8th inning.

Lucas had no fastball command for the last few innings.

Exactly, sure seemed like it was the finale of his outing

What an idiot. Totally just wanted him to get one out to get a standing ovation to the 6,000 people there.

Cause the manager sucks

Bad manager is bad.

Hope the bullpen can build off last night

Tony with another baffling decision

I missed the whole interview but TLR mentioned how the new reliever will usually come in after 1 hitter in an inning. He and Katz decided that with the new reliever rules it was an advantage. So we'll usually see pitchers catty over to 1 hitter in an inning.

There was zero benefit to that. He wasn't going to finish the 8th. The only result would be having to take him out of the game. He was losing his command at the end of the 7th.

Now he's on the hook.

How the f*** is that an advantage?
