5/13: Minnesota @ Chicago White Sox 1:10 PM CDT

White Sox going for a sweep today. Will likely see the Twins' best starting effort for the series with Pineda on the mound.

OK with Abreu DHing for a day after his bumps and bruises.

    Great pinch hit call

  • You actually don't have to freak out about Tony every day.  It's possible

  • Jack - Sox are winning. They've won 5 straight. They have the best winning percentage in the MLB. Just in case you didn't know.

lamb in the 2 hole is, uh, something...

Lamb batting second?

What about Eaton 5th? This line up is.....a real getaway day special.

Yeah, I'd prefer him DFA'd and Grandal, or even Yasmani covering first. Or Lamb batting eighth if he "must" play.

Then again, Tony claims he is a "Franchise Type of Guy".

When you have a chance to bat Jake Lamb 2nd, you gotta take it!

Lamb hitting second, really?

Lamb was/is 9 for 31 against Maeda, with three doubles and two homers...

SSS, 1 for 3 with a homer and 2 RBI’s versus Pineda...

Or fifth, that is where most HOF managers and persons would instinctually bat 2021 Jake Lamb (OPS + 52; .143 BA, .143 SLG).

I'm hoping against reality it's a "DFA Getaway" sendoff, a la Nick Williams. Hahn, please take charge, thank you.

Tony La Russa is putting my Game Thread duties to the test today, I will not be deterred by his antics.

This lineup makes me want to puke

Obviously lefties hit Pineda well.

Imagine how Lynn feels knowing larussa put out the worst lineup possible

Well, hopefully Lynn just snuffs them out Opening Day style.

Don’t think he’s bothered by stuff like that as easily as Lucas...just focuses 100% on the opponent in front of him, almost with blinders on.

Don't consider any of my posts "freaking out", just stating facts. Batting Lamb 2nd or 5th is ludicrous.

No I consider them freaking out because that's what they are.   Nobody has a bigger grudge on this board.  Lamb sucks, I don't like the guy but they see value in him.  Not TONY, the organization.  If he is here you can't bury him on the bench forever.  The end of your bench needs at bats every once in a while

That's a lineup. Either way, I love me some day baseball. Let's sweep.

Did the organization "see value" in Nick Williams? No, Tony did. Hahn had to take him away. This is the same thing, except now they don't have the luxury of 1-2 off days per week. They need arms, not Jake Lamb. Grandal can cover 1B fine, Garcia and Mendick 3B.

I'm here to talk baseball, others like you hold grudges against those who disagree with baseball discussion. Let it go.

Lmao ok man.  Right on, it's everyone else and not you.

Lefties hit him better than righties a wOBA of 87 points higher actually.  There are no players sitting out today that would be markedly different unless we want Mercedes back at first base or give Abreu the day off.

I'm expecting 9 runs again today.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'd rather have Hamilton or Leury hit 2nd than Lamb.  Is there a reason that a guy who is hot and has an OBP of .364 like Vaughn can't hit in the 2 hole?

Lamb at 2 is ridiculous

The right names are on there, just in a far less than optimal order (IMO).

Anderson
Eaton
Moncada
Abreu
Vaughn
Lamb
Collins
Garcia
Hamilton

Makes a touch more sense to me, at least.

Garcia doesn't make sense. He has always hit LHP better than RHP, and Madrigal actually has reverse splits.

Lamb giving Mercedes a game off makes more sense tomorrow when there's a DH.
