You’re completely missing the point. They aren’t going to be facing teams like Pittsburgh and Detroit in the playoffs. At some point they are going to have to beat the top tier teams consistently.

WTF?  Ncorgbl? Sure, let’s bring up peoples’ wives, incel guy.  Personal attacks are apparently now encouraged.  It’s okay, nobody cares because this game is already a debacle as is.

nice, more awful teams to pad their record, followed by another good team that beats their asses again.  I hate our division, fucking garbage

Abreu is really scuffling, going way beyond the strike zone.

Should hit Collins here for Yermin.

We have seen slumps like this before and he comes around.

If you completely ignore his stats vs fastballs at 95 MPH+, sure. You won't look at that objectively though.

So is Ruiz

Like I said, not a multiple inning reliever

Fry 2IP 3 KS 0s across today

Should be replacing Ruiz IMO

I love you guys, I promise we bounce back!

Fuck the weirdos who are only on here for negativity

He has, and I hope he does, but the usual theories (he starts slow, it’s cold out) aren’t in play. Improvement of plate discipline will help, whether he can regain catching up on fastballs or not.

Sometimes he tries too do to much, in an attempt to carry the team, and it works against him.

Letting Vaughn hit there instead of Lamb was not wise

Tony rarely pinch hit's . It's annoying . He couldve pinch hit for Mercedes or Vaughn.

these fastball splits are scary, our best hitters are absolutely lost against high velocity

Ouch ! time for Nik Turley or Ofriedy Gomez from AAA.

It amazes me how folks can make an analysis based on a couple weeks of off play and jump to the conclusion that a 34 yr old MVP and All-Star is finished. Besides that this one game  is not the end of the world

I think your last paragraph is spot on

So now we get the pinch hitters instead of them with men on base .

It's data from the entire year. He's hitting .150 against fastballs 95+. He's normally well above .300 against those.

Thanks Lance, really shit yourself tonight

well hopefully we dont face the astros in the playoffs, if we even make it there

PIT, SEA, MIN, DET, MIN, BAL  to the Allstar Break.

We're going to be fine.

Tomorrow's game thread may not get to 10 pages. Hopefully the players get back on track next series. This has to be humbling for them even if they don't admit it.

No offense but these moral victory posts are kind of silly. The Sox will need to beat teams like Houston if they want to go all the way this year.
