Seems pretty dumb to pitch Kopech in any low leverage situation.

Especially given that he can't throw back to back games. The tlr excuse maker was here for us though

  • That was probably Vaughn's fault, according to Dallas, because he wasn't playing 6 rows into the seats.

  • Goodwin has 12 RBI already. I hate him at cleanup, but if it works, it works.

Division isn’t won yet.  What’s wrong with wanting to see the lead grow?

That entire inning belongs on Pitching Ninja. Kopech is so talented it's outrageous.

eh, break is coming up, probably more to shake rust off in a low leverage situation

As long as he can pitch on Sunday it's all good.

Good thing kopech is brought in during a 9-1 game. Good stuff

Good opportunity to give him 2 innings

The spin rate on Kopech's fastball is up slightly, likely because this is the hardest he's thrown all year. His combination of velocity and natural spin has to be in the 99th percent tile of baseball.

Imagine how filthy Kopech is going to be in a multi inning role this postseason.

He'd have Bauer like spin rates if he used whatever Bauer used.

Kopech following Keuchel almost seems unfair.

MK brought that shit tonight

I would start Kopech in the postseason. I trust him way more than Cease or Keuchel.

At this point they should be building him up to be able to go 90 pitches by the end of the season with regularly scheduled work not saving him for high leverage

The Orioles gotta be like its 9-1 and you bring in this guy....give us a break.

yeah its the pitching version of "disrespecting the game" lol

It's interesting to me to see which of the ~95th percent tile or higher guys aren't seeing their spin rates crater. Kopech is one of the few I've noticed so far. That again just reinforces how naturally gifted he is as a pitcher.

That's not at all what they're doing but ok

Bringing in Foster in the 9th to appease the respect gods.

he will. and honestly if rodon falls off at all...kopech may be the #2.

Lynn, Rodon, Kopech and maybe Gio is the rotation come October

that's a hit for jake right?

According to whom?

They ruled it a throwing error.

Well he's already done after 1 inning so..,,

The actual results and usage are whom

Kopech isn't a guy you try and "get work" when he can't work like a normal reliever,

Remember in the '05 World Series when Jenks came in for the first time and the parayzed look on Bagwell's face which was absolutely lost trying to make sense of what he was seeing? Kopech could be the starting pitching version of that should we get there this year.
