Listening to the ESPN telecast you think the Sox were on the cusp of a dynasty. Then the twins take 2 of 3, Back down to earth

But these games don't count, I guess.

what a bunch of crybabies in here.   TLR crybabies, especially. Grow up, theyre 10 games up in mid august with an important stretch of games coming up.

JFC, no. It’s not “crybabyism” to point out a handful of ridiculously easy decisions a child could have made that our manager didn’t in either game. Those decisions put us in a much worse position to

Tony is missing tomorrow to attend his sisters husbands funeral.  Thats why he made such poor decisions today and yesterday.  Time to move on now.

Could make sense why he wasn’t focused.

I would be down in one of these upcoming starts to have him stretched out and maybe even start.  But if ReyLo keeps throwing like this, why bother?

Ok, so they didn't play everyone, got it...but still, scoring what, 0 runs against the Minnesota bullpen in 2 games? WTF? Have they gone 2 days in a row without giving up a run all season? I'm not sure if that's a joke or not.

They had been playing pretty well coming into this series. I think they took 3 of 4 from Houston and limited them to less than 5 runs every game.

Do you think the Twins will catch the Sox in the division? The Twins fans sound like they won the World Series against us. Lol

So why is the assumption that if Kopech pitched Minnesota wouldn't have scored?  Kopech hasn't been too dominant of late.  If he had pitched at best we are looking at going to the 10th at 0-0.  Hard to understand when you lose a game 1-0 all the questions about the pitching.

Just tip your cap to another pitcher with an ERA in the stratosphere

when you are the head coach you are going to get questioned... that's life.

The whole the coach knows more is weak.  This is a message board.  If people can't discuss topics, then why even be here.

Of course not lol

Then he should have let someone else manage these 2 games, and he take family leave.

Well at least we are done playing them this year.

You bother because Kopech is a starting pitching for the White Sox in 2021.. If he only pitches 65 innings this year (he pace), he will likely be capped insanely low next year. He needs innings.

He's not a starter though in 2021.  He will be in 2022.

If we use Chris Sale as a template, Sale pitched 71 innings in 2011.  Pitched a little more than 190 in 2012.

Do you always complain no matter if they are winning or not because it seems like your doing a lot of it the past two days? Lol

Those decisions put us in a much worse position to try to win and winning HFA is ridiculously important on a team that struggles with elite competition.

It’s one thing when we just get beat by better playing, better managing, better pitching. it’s quite another when a nincompoop leaves his best weapons on the bench because of some bygone hunch from 1974 that is a statistically losing play.

Look at the lineup.  TLR punted on today's game.  The pitching was more than enough to win this.  He had the Sunday squad flexing their muscles.  The fact that they got shut down is not difficult to see.

Tony has clearly prioritized resting his best players and giving the rest a chance to perform in high leverage situations over winning as many games as possible. Only time will tell how well that strategy plays out.

SoxTalk (Monday): It’s so great everybody is back.

SoxTalk (Wednesday): Sox scored zero runs. It’s irrelevant Tony sat half the regulars all at once, and sat all his best relievers for another one run loss.

Tony has mastered the one run loss. His poor decision making and antiquated bullpen management is not going to magically improve, against far better teams, in October. This year, or as long as he is allowed to fester.

I understand the concept of giving players the day off, but how do you not pinch hit for Jake Lamb and Leury Garcia in the 9th?! How much of an extra toll is one at bat and maybe 3 outs in the field going to put on these elite players?

This game was played like an NFL preseason game.  They all count the same.  No game should be punted.  The next 2 weeks or so will tell us a lot about this team. If they handle that stretch well, this will be forgotten.
