I agree with him, but it is hard to check the runner while also fielding a ball. And if he checks the runner after fielding it, it probably wouldn't matter.

Yeah you're probably correct.  But they should be in on the bidding for an ace.  My bet is that Scherzer goes to the Red Sox or Dodgers.  After that we'll see.  Our best shot is probably Rodon.
