March 22, 20223 yr For me, it's the Mets. Degrom I think needed surgery and is not going to be 100% again. I think Scherzer gets old more quickly than most think; he started showing signs last year in the first half and then broke down late in the season. Marte is old and speed has a way of aging rapidly and unexpectedly. I hope Bassitt is good but there's always something weird about SP's getting out of Oakland. Also, linedrives off the face can impact a pitcher forever. I'll say the Mets succumb to injuries and the Cohen tax was wasted dollars on a team fighting for the final playoff spot at best. March 22, 20223 yr Will go with the Braves, post WS hangover. Of course, they have a better pen, and are getting Ozuna and Acuna back at some point.

They'll find out quickly enough Berrios is not QUITE as good as his reputation that precedes him. A very solid pitcher, but closer to a 2/3 than a 1/TOR.
March 23, 20223 yr I’ll go with the Rays, even though that almost feels like cheating. Which of course means they’re about to win 105 games.
March 23, 20223 yr Yeah gotta be the Mets, still have a hard time believing in what the Red Sox did last year. And now JBJ is back so…
March 23, 20223 yr Easy: Mariners. Team had the most absurd sequencing luck late in games last year and they will struggle find 600 innings out of the 5 guys they currently have in their rotation.

That would be four players (along with Paddack, Tatis and Campusano) they didn't hold back for service time manipulation. Editorial Note: Since Harold jinxed Kelenic big-time last year and now the entire state of Wisconsin (NCAABB), there will be no separate CJ Abrams thread in 2022...as we also didn't do one for the TB Rays wunderkind. Forgot about that. @Harold's Leg Lift any thoughts here? Forget the futility with the bat, how about a -9 RAA according to Fangraphs in his half season of time in the OF? This is historical level of suck as a rookie.

The first time I started reading about him, Jeremy Reed immediately came to mind. Different players, different eras...hopefully for the city of Seattle and their 20 something year absence from the playoffs they can get things 100% turned around this season, instead of coming up just short.
